What a Good End to the Season Would Look Like for Spurs

Can THFC find their end of season mojo?

It’s fair to say that this season hasn’t gone as planned for Spurs. They’re down in 12th at the time of writing and well off the pace for a European football qualification finish. However, there are still over ten games to go until the end of the current campaign, and there are more than enough points up for grabs. So, what would a good end to the season look like for Spurs?

If you compared the EPL betting odds at the start of the season to now, they’d look drastically different from a Spurs point of view. While Ange Postecoglou’s side didn’t have the greatest end to last term, good things were expected in 2024/25, and the odds reflected this. Spurs, though, have never really got going, and a severe injury crisis hasn’t helped, with multiple first-teamers unavailable for selection at the same time.

It’s only been twice this season that Spurs have won twice in a row in the Premier League. Interestingly, they defeated Brentford and Manchester United at the back end of September, and they’ve just done the same in February. And now, it’s time to build on this. Putting a few wins together, matched with decent performances, will go a long way to Spurs ending the season in good fashion.

Qualifying for Europe via the Premier League is probably beyond Spurs, with them 9 points or more adrift, depending on whether an extra Champions League spot is granted for the division. However, it’s not impossible, especially if a team can chain a few wins together and hit a good run of form.

Another positive between now and the end of the current campaign will be recovering players from injury and getting them out of the treatment room and out on the pitch. The reason for this is two-fold. Ange Postecoglou has stated how the injury crisis has rocked Spurs and impacted performances and results, so it will be interesting to see that proven. And, Spurs will have more chance of winning games with their better players available.

A good end to the season is arguably Spurs getting players back, starting to perform well and picking up wins. This would ultimately mean they can go into next season knowing that Big Ange is the man to lead them forward because when he’s got the majority of his first team available, he can get the results required to ensure Spurs are battling for the places they should be in the league.

Finally, Spurs are still in with a chance of winning a trophy before 2024/25 is over. They’re through to the next round of the Europa League, and they will fancy their chances of progressing. So, it could be a successful end to the season on the silverware front in this respect, with Champions League qualification available for the winner.
