Tottenham Planning a Busy Transfer Window
Once the season ends, we will be heading towards the summer transfer window, and there are rumours that Mauricio Pochettino has plans to bring in five new players. Spurs have had a good season and are sitting just behind Manchester City and Liverpool who are locked in a title race. While a top three finish is likely, first or second appear to be out of reach, and bonusbets.com looks at the plans for strengthening the team ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Bringing in five players will not be the only moment as it is likely there will be some hits as Real Madrid are certainly closing in on Christian Eriksen leaving the team needing power in the midfield area. Rumour has it that they will also bee looking to add a central defender, a striker and a left back to the mix as they have designs on the top two places next season. It seems as though Toby Alderweireld might be on the move leaving space there. There is a £26m release clause on the player, and several clubs are sniffing about. Manchester United is just one team that has shown interest in the 30-year-old player and with age now against him this might be the time to make the last big move for his career.
We know that they have their sights set on Jack Grealish the Aston Villa, midfielder after they didn’t manage to bring him through the last summer window and Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler is also a potential new recruit to the team. While it is believed that the team hopes to land Wilfried Zaha the price might be too much at the moment and they may leave the Crystal Palace star for now, and instead potentially look to sign Jarrod Bowen who they have been tracking and has proven to be a strong winger for Hull.
Thankfully at this stage Harry Kane looks set to stay with his club, but they will be keen to bring him some support, and there is a potential that this might come in the form of Aleksandar Mitrovic who is currently at Fulham; however, any striker is going to have concerns that Kane will get top pickings, and it is almost certain that the Serb player will be reluctant to go to a team that might bench him more than play him.
Other players that might be on the move including Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen and with Bernabeu showing interest in Eriksen the club might want to cash in on the player now with 12 months left on his deal rather than lose him for nothing later. Finally, it looks likely that Pochettino himself will be staying as although early in the season it seemed likely that Manchester United would snap him up as their new manager, no one can argue that Solskjaer has proved to be a fantastic fit and the money is now on him becoming a permanent fixture.
