Put down the ball and pick up the clubs

Footballers across the world are now turning to gaming as a way to have fun after a big game. Of course, some footballers are also leaving their golfing hobbies behind in the pursuit of gaming too. Some of them include Gareth Bale and Dele Alli.

Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale’s team are going to be making their first appearance at the FIFA eClub. This is happening in Milan. Bale is also doing his bit to try and invite gamers from across the world to see if they want to get involved in a big talent hunt. The idea is that they want to try and get people to sign a professional contract with their team so that they can go on to really achieve success. Bale has come out to say that there are some similarities between football and virtual esports, in the fact that you need to dedicate yourself and you also need to sacrifice a lot if you want to be able to reach the top of your game.

Dele Alli

When you look at Dele Alli, you will soon see that he is a very passionate gamer. In fact, some would say that he’s one of the best gamers around when it comes to Fortnite. He has worked with the developers over at EA sports and even Activision, and that is where he launched his very own Twitch channel. Twitch is a site that allows gamers to stream whatever game they are playing, live. It also allows them to craft a brand and engage with an audience, esports organisations and sites like GGPoker are examples of this. Dele Alli has made quite a lot of money by streaming on Twitch and he has also been able to amass over 1 million views too, meaning his has a brand off-the-pitch too.

Neymar

Neymar has the look of a gamer, and he has also made it as an elite eAthlete too. He does a lot of his work through Instagram. He enjoys playing on the console as well as on a PC. In the past, he has also been able to have customised PCs made for him. He likes to play games that range from PES and Fortnite too. A lot of athletes like to play FIFA, but for him, he likes to be a bit different. He’s even said that he quite enjoys playing basketball as well.

Antoine Griezmann

Antoine Griezmann moved to Barcelona from Madrid and he is yet another football player who quite enjoys playing video games. He is very famous for his goal celebrations and if you didn’t know already, then his famous celebration – Take the L – is actually from the game Fortnite. He’s a huge fan and he loves to play on his Xbox. The only time he believes that he is truly happy is when he is playing on his video game, and it’s safe to say that it’s a passion he does not plan on giving up any time soon.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard is a very enthusiastic gamer to say the least. He spends quite a lot of his spare time on video games. It should not be a surprise that his game is FIFA. The youngster took up gaming when he lost the Cup Final in 2018 with Manchester United. Ever since then, he has seen gaming as being a form of therapy and this has really helped him to stay focused when it really matters. He has also stated that he enjoys playing online and that he has connected with quite a few people in his time. One issue is that he does like to indulge in junk food when gaming, and he believes that this is a bad habit given his profession.
