Really becoming a very decent left back and I hope - and expect - he won't lose his place when Rose gets fit. Better character than him too. Wears the shirt with pride and not with some petty chip on his shoulder, and never moaned when he wasn't getting much game time. And I don't expect him to do an interview anytime soon saying he'll go back to Wales at some point so he can get the contract he deserves. He won't dye is hair red either.

Another one of the lads who can be justifiably satisfied this evening. Didn't put a foot wrong & looked very dominant today.

Salivating at the quality in this squad.

Would have no qualms whatsoever if Danny Rose was made to sit out the rest of the season as Davies' understudy when he is fit. He is the better player, but that shouldn't be the only factor that gets you on the pitch. Ben's attitude is absolutely first class and he has enough quality to start for a title-challenging side all the same.

Rose could take a leaf out of Aurier's book. Until he fully makes amends with the manager, squad and fans he should be reduced to league cup duty and helping Ben rest for the big games.

Ben had an easy afternoon in a one sided contest, there will be sterner tests to come. Rising & winning the confrontation against class opposition is the step he needs to make before too many on here get carried away.

Don't remember Chelsea, the league champions, giving him much trouble.

Davies got done by Martina on a few occasions
Trippier by Baines a few times.
Both were responsible for the best chances Everton had.
Davies ( Trippier too) delivery was spot on. Yet he and Trippier will face faster full backs and wide players this season.

He's just not strong enough or fast enough defensively sometimes.
Same goes for Trippier
We need different full backs for different games.
Trippier and Davies will get skinned by players with pace, like Zaha and Davies for instance and be pinned back as they are not as fast enough to recover

When fully fit Rose will be ahead of Davies and Aurier has come in to be ahead of Trippier. The only chance Davies has of being ahead of Rose is if Roses outburst makes it impossible to make amends with Pochettino and the club in general.

Rose is miles better than Davies, just like Walker was miles better than Trippier. He's done a decent job, but Rose is ahead of him when fully fit and not being a media gobshite

No doubt Davies isn't perfect and has his faults. But Rose simply should not be allowed to walk back into the team until he comes out with a full and proper apology. If he refuses he can sit out the rest of his long contract, "underpaid" as the second choice left back. When he looks back on his career, that Sun interview must be the turning point where it all went downhill for him, not the point where he got his big break like he had been hoping.

Who did he have to face Moses and I remember him getting the better of Davies on a couple of occasions
They played with 5 defenders, two DM's and Moses. Willian and Morata.
they still had some most of their joy from our left, and won it down our right.

Have we ever won playing Chelsea with Trippier or Davies?

Poch said he apologised and it was in the past

Trippier got abused all game.

I literally cannot remember anything Davies done wrong.
