Transfers January 2018 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'd like us to start looking at more flexible offensive players, like Son, rather than an out and out second striker to play backup with Kane. It's pretty evident that players that sit on the bench for too long start to rust and tend to make mistakes when brought on. So better to have someone that can play in multiple roles. Work as a striker when Kane cannot play, but can also play as an offensive midfielder/winger so even when Kane plays he can get playing time and this avoid the rust.

We need someone like sane and someone like david silva in my opinion. These are more likely to be summer transfers but those are the two types who I'd be looking to add to the squad. Barkley would be useful given our CM issues but I'd recall onomah before signing him.

I saw this on facebook today. I have no idea the accuracy of it but it was interesting.

The following players can sign pre-contracts in 6 weeks:

Messi, Alexis, Mata, Goretzka, Özil, Balotelli, De Vrij, Ghoulam, Giménez, Can, Meyer, Shaw, Blind, Wilshere, Ribéry, Juanfran, Fellaini, Miranda, Robben, Bernard, Chiellini, Barkley

Assuming that list is true, which I don't know if it is or not, who should we be interested in on a pre-contract? I've heard talk about Goretzka and Meyer, but I've never seen either play. I'd be hysterical to take Alexis.

Messi's contract is sorted, just needs a signature. On that alone I'd question the article.

Out of those named, I'd go for Goretzka and Robben. Robben could be a Davids-esque signing.
