I was talking to a mate of mine that supports Sunderland today, and we were both in agreement that I don't understand how anyone could support a City or a United, or any team that just constantly wins. It just seems boring to me. It is the climb that is better IMO. And although I would LOVE us to win the league one day I can't help but feeling my passion would drop slightly afterwards, like Leicester for example I can't see that any of their fans give two shits what happens with them now.

Our snout is in the trough with the rest already. We already spend huge money and are funded by a billionaire.

Just so happens there are maybe half a dozen teams that spend more than we do. But dozens who spend less.

Having a new Mansour like owner would just mean we up our spending a bit over what we already do. Hardly reason to end a lifetime of support.

Spurs have a history of breaking transfer records...
Bitter when we complain when it’s not us
Anyone remember when maxwell nearly bought us? He was rich.

Loads of clubs have been bought and it hasn’t made them all walk the league.

I think comparing Sheikhs and Maxwell is like saying Rita Ora and Susan Boyle are the same 'cos they both have hair!

We do have a very rich owner but we are trying to build something deeper and more sustainable than just throwing plastic cash at an attempt for instant success.

Our investment started with the Training Centre and whole development set-up. We’ve moved on to the stadium which will bring far greater commercial revenues. It’s a model that protects the owner’s investment but should also benefit us longer term.

Poch is now absolutely key to this project though. If he leaves then it could all fall apart. His impact on the whole club and his philosophy are now wholly entwined with everything the club is doing from a directional perspective.

Joe Lewis is worth around 5.7bn USD

Just saying

Valid point but completely different owners. We are owned by a bussinessman who sees us purely as an investment, City are owned by a prince worth tens of billions from a family network worth apparently a trillion if the internet is to be believed.

City are essentially a play toy to be built up for prestige, we are not.

Point is, like most things, if more people took the moral high ground maybe decent morals/principals would be upheld... Conversely, if everyone leaves it to someone else, the demons are allowed to run amok.
So if we are talking about Morals and Principles, in your opinion were we Morally Correct in willingly accepting 50million oil soaked bank notes last summer....
And if United offer 50million for Rose, but, City turn round and offer 80million, who's money is Levy gonna take?
Money is Money. Using it to beef upyour financial investment is no more morally principled than using it to beef up your football team

I would allow the super league in Europe so Chelsea, Utd and City can all fuck off with their Billions and play each other in China and anywhere else that will pay the TV money and let their true fans suffer in silence. Isn't this what they want?

I agree and nothing wrong with that reay but as we have seen it does not mea we cannot compete.

This season we have looked tepid and for me our biggest issues are in our attacking potency.
I’m one of what a thought was a small bunch of fans that were majorly pissed off at Sugar hard balling Abramovich out of buying Spurs. I’m perfectly happy to get a Shekh in, it’s all dirty money to me anyway. But to be involved with this anti-Levy campaign is just pure madness. The guy is a spurs fan and has worked miracles with what he has had

I think it is the players we have bought at times as much as the money we have spent.

I don't want no oil guzzling anybody. Would make me a hypocrite.

That is what 99% of professional football is and what 100% of what it allways has been before Chelsea, City and PSG. Yet you disapprove.
Ill ask you. Simple question. Did you disapprove of our club willingly accepting 50million oil soaked bank notes off Sheikh Mansour last summer? Should we have told him to fuck off and take his grubby businesses elsewhere?
