Gutted for the lad. Always liked him as a player and was sorry to see him leave the club. Seemed really genuine and a top bloke.

I think that injury scoring the winner v Sunderland hurt his career a lot. He never really recovered from that at Spurs.
That was the goal and the win that kick-started Poch's 2nd season when we competed for the title for the first time in 30 years.

First 4 games, 3 pts and fans starting to grumble saying Poch needs to sort things here. Great goal from Mason, but picked up yet another injury, and by the time he recovered the team had started to motor.

Thankfully he's a level-headed guy who has much more chance of taking it in his stride. When players can't handle it and go off the rails, it can get very ugly. Paul Vaessen one of the grimmest examples.

Back on topic, I hope he's set up for life financially with insurance pay outs etc, and looks to have a job for life if he wants it at Spurs Lodge. Great Yiddo.
