Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

you and Ossie Wembley You don’t ‘question’ club policy - in all my time on here you positivity slaughter it.
And PC agenda? Do you actually read my posts?
And I openly praise it where I think its due.
Just last week I applauded the decision to move the cup tie to MK.
I heaped loads of praise on baldy when he secured a full capacity Wembley for a season. But your selective viewing habit means you don't see it. Unless its a constant dribble of praise your agenda sets in and I must Hate Spurs.
Anyway, I won't let myself be dragged down. I'll just ignore you're petty crusade and carry on regardless. Use the ignore button if you find me as unbearable as you claim

Why not come straight out and say you’d prefer Mourinho as our manager? Why are you objecting to Poch’s salary? I thought you advocated spending money on talent? You lick the arses of want away players, yet you seem to have a problem with what the manager earns - you clearly don’t trust him. You’re weird.
The fuck are you on. I said on the previous page Poch deserves every penny he gets. I merely said I doubt United would pay a manager who's yet to win anything the same 15million salary they supposedly pay Mourinho.
You're seeing things that aint there Joe. You're the fucking freak on this one

I’m not on a crusade - you are. Can’t you see that? The club fucks up all the time, their public relations is a joke, and there’s a good case to be made for them lying to our supporters. I’ll make a point then leave it. If you’ll do the same we’ll get along just peachy.

It was your stand out point.

Look, when other posters go along with the words that come out of his mouth, about trying to build something and being in it for the long haul, you always agree with the posters who ridicule those words. In fact you agree with every negative post on here. I’m not bloody stupid - I can read John. You’ll always throw in the odd neutral post so you can refer back to it later, but you can’t possibly deny that you’re unhappy with the direction the club is taking - can you?

Anyway, dinner’s ready. Sleep tight.

you are no football man if you applaud anything about Milton Keynes Dongs.Im utterly fucked off that we are going there. only ever play at that abomination if we have to, should never volunteer to do it.

and on Negative press: there is reason the press was known to go to Best's local when he was sober and offer him booze. There is a reason that (according to his sister) they try to get gascoigne off the wagon when he's sober. its cos negative stories sell more papers than feel goods. Gascoigne drunk again is a better headline than gascoigne reaches 100 days sober. however much they pretend to care.

and "pochettino in showdown talks" sells more and reads better than "pochettino meeting Levy to discuss contract"

Logic suggests that when Pochettino says he is meeting the chairman and a short while after said meeting, he signs a new contract, it was about said contract. especially when his close friend and confidant says he turned down an approach from Real

Well done Daniel Levy for not baying to the mob and throwing away home advantage. And congratulations on pricing it sensibly.
I'm expecting a healthy turnout and a resounding Spurs victory

I don't applaud the way that Milton Keynes stole the Wimbledon identify. But AFC Wimbledon are now a force on their own. Higher than MK in the pyramid.
But fuck MK Dons and Fuck Wimbledon. First and foremost I'm Spurs. And if playing at stadium MK gives me and others a better chance of watching my team than a paltry away allocation at Watford then I'm all for it.

If Levy had taken us to Stratford, would you have gone?

Love him or hate him Mourinho's record probably gives him the right to earn that kind of salary. I doubt they would offer Poch that much.
In fact I'd hazard a guess that Poch is the highest paid manager in the world not to have ever won anything. Though feel free to prove me wrong.

They didnt have to pay Poch 15M, but they could easily pay him more than we can. If he's so unhappy, and only stayed for the 8M, all he had to do was ask for that money, or even 10M, or 12M at Utd, or Real, and he would have walked into what you think is his dream job.

But he signed a 6yr deal, and committed to Spurs.

I also find it odd how some of you get "concerned" when Eriksen and Dele etc havent extended, and it shows a "worrying" sign that we MUST win something or the will leave.
But as soon as someone commits and signs a 6yr deal, its either to "maximise their sale" or "means nothing" because they will leave anyway when Utd/Real/Barca come calling.

The club can never win with you, and thats why people question what you are actually in this for.
You really dont seem to enjoy anything to do with Spurs.

Fair play John

Yes. I would have.
Are you boycotting the cup tie then?
Although we're in the wrong thread for this discussion.
absolutely I am. (and yes, I am aware that AFC take an away support there. I know a load of them.I also know that a very large % of their support will never go there. I dont assume it. I know it. cos plenty of them have told me as much)

Levy trying to get us to Stratford is the worst thing he's ever done (IMO, anyone that thinks that it was an attempt to force the council's hand is kidding themselves. had we won the bid we would be there now). Its what woolwich did when they moved to islington. Its what Milton keynes did when they stole Wimbledon. At least they had the balls to change their name to reflect it. Tottenham Hotspur in stratford wouldn't have been Tottenham Hotspur, it would have been stratford hotspur.

I'll be honest, I'm kinda mystified. You post pics of Lewis's yacht (as though it means anything), constantly go on about enic only being in it for the money, posted some utterly irrational crap in the stadium thread, constantly go on about how Spurs you are..but would have supported taking away the clubs identity and what little is left of its soul.

But people have been saying that for 3 years and only Walker has left.

We havent won things, and everyone is still here, so again, the facts are proving you wrong. Oh, you mean next year? And if they stay, then they will leave next year........or next year.......

You claim to be a realist, but your living out a false reality which hasnt happened.
So your logic is because only Walker has left, if we go on not winning anything nobody else will leave, Man Utd lost Ronaldo to Madrid, Woolwich lost their best players despite their cup wins, so I can't say I agree, I don't see why we are immune from losing players.
Its not about a poor performance.
Its about somebody systematically berating a policy, year after year, and slagging off the club as a bunch of cheap cunts, who only want to make money and dont give a shit about trophies........but then trying to cuddle up to Poch and pretend he is somehow not part of the the system they despise so strongly.
Who? I haven't done that.
It might really hurt you to know but its Poch calling the transfer shots.

"If you cannot add players who can improve your squad, the most important thing is to make sure you do not lose your best players"

Maybe you would be happy for Levy to go and spunk gazillions on players the manager doesnt want, so your summers are happier, but as I said, thats not Spurs.
Trying to match the richer clubs spending is exact what I don't want but I'm not sure how this relates to the part you quoted me on.

I'll try and clarify my position for you then. As we're in the wrong thread, ill be brief.
I think ENIC are in it for their own long term profit. There is a clue in their name and what they are. Thats why, IMO, they under invest in the team, but readily invest in the infrastructure such as the stadium and corporate facilities etc..I dislike and don't trust the NFL connection, and im concerned that should a franchise be granted in London, its ENICs aim to place it in Tottenham, relegating THFC to secondary tennants of the stadium.
In the meantime it's their intention to keep us competitive, but actually winning silverware is of little relevence or importance.
I also think the clubs inability to sign a single player to improve our team in the summer is fucking scandelous, especially following on from the clubs announcement to charge the highest football season ticket prices the world has ever seen, and my tongue-in-cheek references to Joe's yacht is a simple reminder that we have a supra-billionaire owner, happy to invest in his own personal luxury, but unwilling , like other rich owners, to invest a single pound of his tax free wealth in to the football team I love and support. Had he and ENIC done so, I'm conviced we would not have gone through the most barren 2 decades in the clubs history.
This is my view. I know many disagree, but a sizeable minority are also disillusioned with the lack of investment in the squad and worried about the Owners long term intentions. I am not the only one.
I would not have enthusiastically, wholeheartedly, supported moving the club to Stratford, as you seem to be inferring . It wouldn't have been a preferred option. But it was not going be the athletics stadium it is now. It would have been a football stadium for Tottenham Hotspur and I would still have supported my team had we moved there.
I said at the time, and I was in a minority, that keeping Spurs in Tottenham was not as important to me as getting a new stadium a club as big as us deserved. Especially as the vast majority of our fans, even match going fans, don't live there.
Much like Aston Villa would not limit themselves to the Aston area of Birmingham, or Everton are moving from the Everton district of Merseyside, unlike most, I did not see the necessity of Spurs remaining in the Tottenham area of North London. I know most on here slaughtered me for it, but I wanted to to see us get the stadium we deserved before falling too far behind our competitors, and at the time it looked like Tottenham (the area) was never going to happen.
These are my views, not popular I know, at least on here they're not, but there you have it.

And just to prove my consistency Johnboy40 Johnboy40 I posted this in June 2013, over 5 years ago. Unlike some, my views don't change with the wind
Thank you. Thats pretty much what I`m trying to say. I don`t think we should be *compelled* to build the stadium in Tottenham. Had we actually tried to build the stadium in a more convenient location, with better transport links and less aggressive local authority, we`d probably be playing in it by now. And to answer someone elses question RE stratford/wembley. Yes, I would have actually supported a move to stratford (cue another load of neg reps or whatever.) a) It would have seen us grow as a club without breaking the bank and b) I fucking hate West Ham and didnt want to see them get it. Wembley, no. Thats the national stadium and should only be used by England and for cup finals. Although I would accept a temporary move there while the new stadium was being built if it suited the club financially. Those of you who support the idea that we must stay in Tottenham, which seems to be the majority, well, everyone apart from me actually, what year do you actually expect us to start playing in a stadium that holds more than Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday. According to Levy in 2008 it was this year wasnt it ?

So does Guido 🇺🇦 Guido 🇺🇦 get to pick a charity then?

Ha. clever. I'll be straight with you. I might be wrong. And I can't afford to pay you £1000 if I am. However, I'm willing to make a £100 bet with you, for any name charity, that we won't be in a new stadium by the planned date of July 2018. In fact I'll go further. July 2019.
