Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No, we didn't constantly beat them under Redknapp. Struggling to think of a win against any of them where we beat them well or comfortably or weren't hanging on for dear life. Prior to playing any of them, we were rightly underdogs. I used to attend these games hoping not to get spanked. The only game that comes to mind is when we beat Liverpool 4-0 under Redknapp. But any win against any of these teams was seen and treated like we had won a cup final.

The question of comfort is irrelevant - it is the results that matter. We had back to back home victories against Chelsea, back to home victories against Liverpool ( with the 4-0 victory being one of the best performances I have seen by us) beat Woolwich at home and won our first and only away win at the Emirates and beat City away to qualify for the CL. So actually we had a fairly decent record against these sides under Redknapp, we even managed to win back to back away victories at Old Trafford. So the notion that we were not positioned to win a cup game against such sides is completely false and and our league record against these sides has only improved since then but surprise surprise our cup record hasn't. That tells me that there is culture and mentality issue at the club.

This feeling has now completely left me. Based on relative form I might feel apprehensive about a game, but I no longer think we will get tonked. But winning against this lot is now commonplace and sometimes even expected. We are also seen as favorites in some of them too. Poch has done this, it's this that has transformed the feeling around the club.

Yes we were favorites for the Semi final last year, had a huge advantage of playing in Wembley that season and did the usual complete no show again which is becoming a pattern emerging with Pochettinho

Have a bit of patience, we have only just broken into the top four in the past 3yrs, this lot have finished above us for fucking decades!!

Is that a joke? Patience? We have gone nearly the whole decade without winning anything this despite having two of our most talented sides in a generation in that time. What are we waiting for exactly? If inferior sides are winning FA Cups, UEFA Cups and League cups why shouldn't we? The delusion here is the belief that this team wont break up the reality is that you have to look at comparable clubs such as Dortmund and A Madrid to see that is not the case. We have been good enough to win silverware for 13 years, clubs like Sevilla and A Madrid have a won a combined 8 UEFA Cups in that time, a mediocre Woolwich side as 3 FA Cups to it's name and your solution is more time is required? Do you really believe some of the horseshit you come out with?

As for no gave a shit about our supposed challenge, what the fuck are you smoking? ALL of our rivals were absolutely shitting themselves, they believed we could we. Our challenge for the title ended against WBA, what happened after that is what happens when you ask a professional athlete to finish 2nd whilst their eyes were on finishing 1st, it hurt us supporters (the Newcastle game, plus a part of the Chelsea game and the Southampton game) but I do understand why our fight had gone, the players didn't give a shit about finishing 2nd, 3rd. This contributed to a larger numerical gap.

No one outside of Woolwich and Chelsea's supporter base gives a shit, I constantly have United supporters tell me how they want Spurs to win the league if they cannot and how they like our team (I have had many Liverpool supporters do the same). The reality is that few actually believe that we will anything - which stems from our continued failure to get over the line - most acknowledge we are a good side but the narrative is that this is still Spurs at the end of the day ( which we have done nothing to dispel).

There is one thing I can absolutely assure you of, we are seen as a rival for a title, there are favorites, of which we aren't one of them, but you ask any supporter at any of our top 6 rivals and we are in that conversation, we are now feared by each and every one. Sorry if this piece of news finds you deeply upset, rage against that all you like and you will have people laugh you out of the room.

We are not seen as a title rival, we are seen as part of the top 6 but only City and Liverpool are considered that this season. And we weren't considered that last season given that we finished 23 points behind City. The closest we got was a 7 point differential with Chelsea. Take Spurs away from this and no one would consider this a team that is challenging for the title. Apologies but I don't think I have ever come across a more delusional Spurs supporter as I have with you - it's a level of delusion that is only really seen with Liverpool supporters.

Pochettino or Spurs in general?

You keep bringing up Redknapp, who himself lost 2x FA Cup Semi Finals and a League Cup final with us, just like Pochettino.

It seems to me it's more a Spurs problem. No idea what it is exactly, the pressure? I don't know.

Oh please..He stood like a statue as the first went past him (again)
and the second went straight underneath his body.
Shocking performance that was criticised by all and sundry on here in the match thread.

Poch dropping Hugo for Vorm in a semi final v United was a clear indication of our attitude towards the FA cup
I think Poch selected Vorm because he felt he owed a debt of gratitude for being a good professional. For not mouthing about rarely getting a game, for his attitude at training, and shit. Not because he didn't give two fucks about the FA Cup.

However, it cost us fucking dear.

As I said before we are just seeing the Redknapp era being played out again, same attitude towards the cup tournaments and the same preoccupation with CL qualification. And guess what the outcome is?

The issue is one of culture - the club is plagued by a qualification one - we have simply become Woolwich of a decade ago, completely content with CL revenues and nothing more.

Everyone suddenly has no doubt that Hugo would have saved both of those goals. We literally have no way of knowing that. And the rest of the team may still have played poorly, as they did, and we may still have lost. Hugo was playing when we conceded 4 goals in the semi the previous year.

But we don’t get consistently tonked by them do we? We have beaten the likes of United, Woolwich Chelsea and Liverpool and City on numerous occasions since the start of the Redknapp tenure. If we are capable of beating these sides in single league games then we are perfectly capable of beating them in cup games but we don’t.

And yes the higher league placing the better side but that hasn’t translated into cup wins for us. We have finished above inferior Woolwich and United sides in recent seasons and yet they have won FA Cups, League Cups and a UEFA cup and we nothing. And what about the fact that we have often been the wealthiest side in the Europa but struggle to progress beyond the group or second round qualifier? How do you account for that? I’m interested in you excuse for that one.

You seriously live in some warped bubble of positive delusion and supposed agendas. No one gave a shit about our supposed challenge. No one considered Woolwich to be challengers to Leicester in the season we blew 2nd but you want to believe that somehow we were. If you finish 11 points behind one title winner and 7 behind the other then that’s not competing for the championship. It’s delusional to believe such a thing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Christ you aren't half a tedious cunt.

A Gooner scum maggot to boot.

Why don't you just fuck off?!

:dembelefingers:

Pleasant reading from Guillem Ballache.

Guillem Balague column: What is Mauricio Pochettino doing to ride Spurs storm?

Guillem Balague column: What is Mauricio Pochettino doing to ride Spurs storm?

It's a relatively long read.

Key takeaways
1. After the summer we've had, any other manager would have left
2. This season's going to be a reality check and will show that we have been punching above our weight
3. Finishing in the top 4 will be nothing less than a miracle
4. We are not creating enough chances for Harry Kane

I'm inclined to believe that Hugo is liable to throw one in in the big fixtures. You're right-we have no way of knowing for sure-but I am sticking to my guns in saying that Vorm had a bad game.

In fact, he's the type of keeper that, for my money, puts us in the position of starting a game a goal down.

HAHAHA!

You're just a boring little fuck, spouting the same shite over and over and over and over again.

Whats the fucking point? What IS your point?!

I bet you have never been to a Spurs match unless it's in the away end with your fellow Gooner maggots.

Just. Fuck. Off.

1: It's an internet discussion board. 2: Read the actual posts.

Oh great yet another ' You must be a Woolwich supporter/ cant be a real Spurs supporter because you disagree with me' loathsome narcissist.

Now get out of my sight.

I think that’s harsh but I certainly agree that I would rather have Hugo in goal! Sadly it’s very hard to have a second world class keeper in reserve.
