Can't possibly see little Austin being a much hated franchise. Columbus kept their team, surprisingly. If they want to be mad at anyone over the fiasco it should be Garber and MLS - the idea of relocating from Columbus to Austin was pushed by the league because Columbus brings in fuck all as a media market.

Austin is destined to be the same as most the clubs in the league - make weights. The city isn't in the top 10 attractive MLS cities for potential international players which means they're going to be stuck trying to develop players (in a market where neighboring Houston and Dallas have massively better youth) and fighting every other club in the flyover states to unearth quality Central American/2nd or 3rd tier South American players.

They even lose out on the hipster cunt contest, easily, to Portland.

Perfect use of the January window really.

Also may open up the eyes of younger European players that you can go to the MLS and develop before returning to Europe.

Let's see if anyone takes a second gamble next winter.
