Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m hearing his wages are based on Utd achieving XY & Z and tied to utds sponsors as image rights, they are about to change some sponsors and those wages are set to drop substantially this summer as he’s at the half way point of his contract, Olly is confident of shipping him out this summer, which he will do without even a transfer fee if need be...
Sanchez is a useless overpaid prick and poch wouldn’t even entertain letting that clown anywhere near our dressing room!

I'd keep Davies as he is a good squad player & can cover CB to. Dier has been injured lots this season so I'd give him all next season to get fit & fight for his place in the squad. But the others can all go.
Again though, that's 6 out of the squad (most of them regular starters when fit) so just to replace them (with improved players) is going to cost, what, £150m-£200m+? Where is the addition to the squad that is so desperately needed going to come from? I said before, to achieve what a lot seem to want in this window, will require £300m+ and that isn't going to happen (it would be nice if it did though).

Problem is that looks like up to 10 out and 5 in, with a squad that is already short. That would be a football suicide window.
We need to keep players and sign new blood, but not wholesale as you are suggesting. Trippier won't go, nor Dier and probably not Aurier or Lamela. The first 5 you mentioned are no brainers , but to bring in replacement for the others and quality additions - talking huge money there.
We already have to many players which is why Jansen couldn’t be registered for the CL squad, so I expect the squad size to stay about the same

And yet the constant wining is about our squad depth not being sufficient and us not being able to cope with our injuries. Squad for CL is different for the season long league programme - thats where we need additions and not just replacements.
It doesn’t help the fact the squad has to carry players like Lamela due to his injuries he is just wasting a spot in this squad, we also have players like KWP and Skipp who poch doesn’t think are good enough to start, then we have Jansen who is not good enough and llorente who has done us a service but needs upgrading as he is never going to be used unless Kane is Injured, if we can just upgrade on these with players who will challenge the starting 11 then it would be a successful window

If one good thing has come from this run of results then it’s (hopefully) shown Levy and the board that injuries happen (and now suspensions) and that one of the reasons we aren’t home and hosed long ago was the lack of investment in the 2 windows. This squad peaked around 2017, but I think big changes are needed now. But like most I am excited...but also nervous for the window ahead! Probably apprehensive because in my heart of hearts I just don’t think levy will release the funds needed!! Which is 200m + as we are CL clubs and within the top 4 again. We need to be backed and push on.

In our squad I worry about lack of characters, think we need big dressing room characters next season.

Players out: Trippier, Aurier, Janssen, Llronte, GKN, Wanyama and Lamela (good player, but too many injuries) - unfortunately I think Toby will go!! Which is terrible as he is our best defender, does Sanchez worry anyone else at the back!!!

Players in: this may be unrealistic, but hay. Rabiot - i think we have to bust a gut to get this guy! He’s total class, CL quality player, top 4 class. Plus he’s a fighter.
Wan Bissaka - I really like this guy, he’s big, strong, quick and can defend as well as attack.
Grealish & Sessengon- we’ve been linked with these too for ages, I’d take a punt on both, both have certain qualities, they may not be starters but if they can be gotten for reasonable money I go for it.
Fekir - this guy is pure class, if Erikson goes we’ll need something of that quality to replace him and Fekir has only one year left on his deal at Lyon. Also Kai Havertz in Germany is a quality young player. Fekir can also fill in as striker, as can Son if Harry is out.

One last point, if we can hold onto Toby and Chris in the summer it would be great, but I am not as optimistic.

I can dream can't I, ha. You are probably right. Although we barely have had Wanyama, Lamela or janssen fit so would we really miss them. Aurier has been injured a lot too. If I am being more conservative then I guess if poch likes trippier then I don't mind him as back up to a better RB. & we can give aurier & or wanyama another chance to keep fit next season. So that's 4 to get rid of instead of 6. If money is so tight it's crazy we gave lamela another few million to barely play.

With all the injuries we have had this season maybe we should be looking at signing new medical staff as well!

Now that we have announced our arrival at the elite end of football - we can’t mess around... none of these Janssen/N’koud ou “supplementing the squad” type signings. The best way to improve your squad is to improve the 1st XI. Essentially the Liverpool model. Then you marry that up with the strengths of your coach - that means highly motivated, younger, malleable players that Poch can push on.

What are the weakest points in the team? For me they are RB, DM and CM.

Youcef Attal (23), Sander Berge (21) and Tanguay N’Dombele (22 - we have to try!), seem like the best solutions to me.

What areas will we need replacements in the longer term? LB, CB (Toby) and creative Midfielder (Eriksen).

Ryan Sessegnon (19), Joachim Andersen (23) and James Maddison (22).

That sets us up well for the next 2-3 seasons minimum.

Can you imagine the medico's going for a job in the future-
Resume lodged- Interview- "tell us about your last job at Spurs"
Decision- Fuck off!
It’s something we should be looking into though, as surely we can’t just be that unlucky with injuries? Obviously the World Cup didn’t help but it seems like we have been crippled with injuries this season, would be interesting to see a comparison between us and the rest of the top 6, surely Totti Totti has this already in a spreadsheet

I believe Woolwich have had players out longer than us through injury but they include the likes of Welbeck who's been pretty much out for the season.

We've had the most individual injuries with everyone bar Son, Alderweireld, KWP, Gazzaniga and Llorente picking up injuries. We've certainly had more "key" injuries than anyone else with Dele, Kane and Winks all missing key games this season. And for a brief time earlier in the season Eriksen got injured and struggled with fitness

Without checking, I'd say Liverpool have had the least, then Chelsea and then the Manchester clubs.

Everton, Wolves and Leicester have better fullbacks and midfielders than us at the moment.

We do not spend well this summer we could find ourselves 10th in the league next season and unfairly blaming Poch who has done nothing more than polishing turds over the last 3 years.

This is the make or break transfer window because this current squad is more likely to finish 12th than 2nd next season.

Overelaborated but we need big maintenance this window

Lloris
Wan bassaka, Toby, Jan, Sessengon
N’dembele sissoko
Eriksen. Dele. Son
Kane
:dierno:
I don’t expect Toby and Eriksen to stay tbh.

Lloris
Attal —Andersen/Sanchez ——-—Jan—————-Rose
N’Dombele———-Winks
Maddison———Dele————Son
Kane
Squad players: Gazzaniga, KWP, Foyth, Aurier, Davies, Ry Sess, Berge, Dier, Sissoko, Skipp, Lucas, Lamela* Llorente**

That’s 25.

*replace if injury is serious, probably I’d buy Grealish or David Brooks and push Dele into the frontline full time as a versatile forward.

**dont mind keeping but a similarly experienced striker who has been around the block (someone a bit more mobile maybe?) would need to take his place.
