Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That right there is the issue I think. I'm pretty sure that if Eriksen wants out, that Pochettino would like Fernandes to replace him. With time being a factor the club finds itself in a tricky situation where we may lose it on Christians replacement if we don't no move for Fernandes soon. It's a tough one but with the Real/ Pogba updates this afternoon or the rumours at least it does leave Eriksen and the club in a bit of limbo.

We can't buy Fernandes without the Eriksen money, we can't sell Eriksen and not get Fernandes, something along those kind of lines it seems.

If I were the club I'd be putting this on the back burner or telling Eriksen he needs to sign or the option of staying at Spurs is off of the table. & mean it. The issue with that is leaving ourselves exposed to low balling based on our ultimatum making. The club needs to decide on what it would prefer more, a player who is keen on a future with us or one who is aprehensive to commit, even if he has greater quality.

If Eriksen is as sensitive as people close to him have made out then I see the Real Madrid knockback being a real kick in the teeth for him. Timongncould be everything on this one, I really don't know which way he'll go if the club he wants isn't up for him.

If I read things right, Spurs have decided to try to acquire Lo Celso (can play both AM and CM) and Ndombele regardless of whether Eriksen stays or goes, If Eriksen goes we probably want to get an additional AM, which is where Fernandes may be one option, no doubt there are others we will try for, and in addition we will get Sessegnon who can play LW or LB but isn't experienced enough at PL level to be the main 'additional AM'.

Just my take on the activity we have heard about of course.

This season?/As we stand?
Alli not playing his proper position due to necessity rather than choice.
Eriksen playing way too deep, sane reasons as Alli.

And on a side note;
Is Dier (although heavily injured this season) an actual DM or not, long term moving forward is a question that needs clarification.

Dier played RB as much as anything in his first season due to injuries to Walker et al

2nd season he played DM and everyone thought he was great.

3rd season Wanyam arrived taking the DM spot and Dier played as both DM and CB.

So like a few players (including Dele and Eriksen) players have moved round according to where Spurs have a gap (often to cover injuries), and IMO that sometimes means playing a square player with rounded corners in a round position, so we get the player playing at say 80% of their abilities in an alternate position to their strongest position.

Up to the fans to understand that the players are helping Spurs out rather than criticising players for not being the 'perfect' DM or whatever position they are sometimes played in.

Dier as a DM is fine - but not played alongside a player who cannot move the ball forwards, so he'd be fine alongside Winks or Lo Celso etc but not Wanyama (if he stays) - and like any player who can cover RB, CB and DM, there may be better DM's out there but not ones who are versatile to cover multiple positions.

If I make being brutally honest withnour squad, the ones I see the club being open to listening to offers for are:

Trippier
Aurier
Carter-Vickers
Wanyama
Dier
Rose/ Davies (I'd rather keep both but think the club would consider selling one)
Nkoudou
Lamela
Onomah
Edwards
Janssen

Toby & Eriksen are clearly ones we'd consider moving on for different circumstances to those above though. Ones looking over their shoulders for me are Serge, Tripps, Dier, Victor and Lamela. These are the five where opinsee a few surprising springing from as for whatever reason this year they simply haven't stepped up like they could and possibly should have. They left doors open to others.

Haven’t read the transfer gossip today and see there’s a few unread pages to look at, so got my hopes up that Spurs might have signed somebody ...

But no, turns out its just a small group of nob heads having a personal argument on a public forum about bullshit nobody else cares about.

They are still talking about Luca Connell(Bolton) around where i live. Would be nowhere near ready for our team now but could be in the future. Around 300 grand would get him.

Fair. Our square peg count is pretty low compared with most though.

Good strengthening-the-squad-by-selling-half-of-it skills

Comes down to who you want to believe. I liked BangkokSpud BangkokSpud 's new stadium info and like this is not ground breaking and info that is out there but in my opinion is not sensationalised. Like any ITK you take with a big pinch of salt.

He basically repeated verbatim stuff he read on skyscrapercity and claimed he got it from "his source."

Another bit of info for you to ignore as you wish ... Spurs have told Schoots that they want a decision within days. Eriksen going or staying is now becoming a problem with this summer's transfer activity. He was given until after the Georgia game ... well that's now been ... so it's decision time.
Im sure you've explained before... but who is your source? (i'm assuming this information was passed directly to you)
