Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I've heard people saying that but am pretty sure he played 4 games in 2 weeks towards the end of last season....just think he's had a shit injury and never got enough rest and recovery and fitness time cos he's been rushed back to plug gaps...
Yes, I was amazed he managed so many minutes. However, his legs appear to have gone.

Fair play Airfixx Airfixx . I'm impressed.

Let's deal with this with some logic.

You feel it's an over reaction by our fans saying that spending too much on players as an excuse not to spend big citing Leeds/Portsmouth, let's add in Blackburn too for shits and giggles.

Why do we say this? In your view as a defence mechanism for Levy from not making the signings you feel we should and that we're over-egging the custard because we're nothing like Leeds/Pompey/Blackburn. You're mocking us for being glad that the club hasn't gone to the wall.

The reason we're nothing like those 3 clubs IS Levy, you seem to ignore that for the sake of saying the club lacks ambition. If you want to nail him for lack of ambition that is your right, but you'll struggle to argue that he hasn't looked after the club to any fair minded fan, ask a lot of fans of the other clubs who they think the best Chairman in the Premier League is, I bet you Levy would be top 3, easy.

Could we have spent more? Yes, should we have? The Dybala demands could have been utterly astronomical and screwed our wage structure in one fell swoop, was it a lack of ambition or just good common sense ultimately? I can tell you that neither of us are qualified to tell. But I'm pretty sure if he was too hot for the financial resources of Manchester United, logic says he was going to be a very difficult player to sign.

I am not saying this to wear a Levy scarf or pen songs in tribute to him but if you think about it he deserves credit for the things he's done.
Only problem is people defended levy when we signed no one in a whole summer. So they lose any credibility for me as they will just back levy whatever. Not that there's anything wrong in supporting our chairman no matter what. But then you don't really have your own opinion as you will change it to suit whatever levy does.

3 things:

Firstly how great is it to see a player genuinely thrilled to be joining us. Sessegnon is clearly buzzing about it, I love seeing a player join who beams like he is.

Secondly Lo Celso is the one I wanted and although Dybala would have been insane, GLC & Tanguy are two of our more high profile signings for years so hard off to Levy for getting this done.

Thirdly, it's the evening before the season starts, this really is last knockings for anyone interested in the Premier League Prediction League this year. Apologies for those that have seen this link a few times, I'm just posting it for anyone that may have missed it. 18 at present, the more the merrier:

He doesn’t explain why though!

TalkSport's man in Italy Palmieri someone or another said that the story that Juve pulled the deal was bogus and that we just simply would't meet the players end of the financials....

From our point of view what was described as a 70m transfer would have been effectively 120m + wages (of which we wanted to pay 8m p/a rather than 10m).

15m agent + 35m image rights was just bollocks to be fair! ....That's a shit sandwhich we were never gonna chow down on.

For now the Delaney piece is the version that’s most coherent. I was merely digging out the last word on Spurs tweet for being dumb as fuck
