Not the worst idea. Would limit his penalty giving away antics and he spent his youth time as an attacking midfielder. Probably why he likes a dribble. Something Dier can't do. Ndom and Foyth in the middle could be fun but not sure if it suits Jose.

why wouldn’t a CB with speed and midfielder dribbling and ball skills playing as a DM fit Jose?

What does Eric have that Foyth doesn’t?

Foyth started as an attacking player then moved to a DM as a teenager before dropping back to CB so I don't think it's completely out of the question. He's only 21 so young enough to learn the position, but I think I'd still prefer him to be a long term CB to replace Toby or Jan.

I like Foyth a lot but he is as green as grass. I would like to see him get an EPL loan in January.

I said I wasn't sure.

From what I have seen, the main difference between tactics so far between Poch and Jose is the time it takes to get the ball up to the attackers.

Poch loved playing out from the rear. Which was a bit of a car crash recently. I assume it was to get bus parky teams to push up and leave space behind them.

Jose seems to have instructed the lads to hoof it up asap. Watching Toby's amazing passes is nothing like a hoof but that is the general idea.

But what I'm unsure of is if that is how Jose wants us to play or he knows how aids riddled our defense is lately so wants it far far away.

I personally feel Foyth is an upgrade on Dier in all but language skills and forehead size.

If we are going to indulge a DM back to fitness, why not do it with Wanyama, at least what you'd get at the end of the rehabilitation would be a proper DM.
Good point.
Depends if you think Wanyama is long term or Eric is long term.
Wanyama is on his way out, literally and figuratively.
I am actually gutted he was not sold in the summer. We will only get buttons for him now I reckon.

I know Dier isn't even a medium term solution, he isn't a midfielder. I don't know if Wanyama could get back to 100%, but I'd rather 80% Wanyama than 100% Dier.

I mean, for all we know, Wanyama could just need nursing back to match fitness? He's looked no worse than Dier has in his games.
Wishful thinking. If we can get any dough for Wanyama then that will be a touch.
Eric was an integral part of our best team this century.
I am hopeful he can return to that form. It seems so is JM.

He's shown for the last 2 years + that he couldn't play at PL level on a regular basis, so very much doubt if he could ever return on a consistent basis
