Meanwhile, Liverpool are posting training videos of a £7.5m Japanese fella that they don't even need, but will probably end up being great for them (knowing their luck).

If José isn't throwing a smoke screen by saying he's fine with the squad as is and just needs training, we really are run like a Ukrainian nuclear power station.
In fact he will turn good because he's good, something that scouts can do for a team.
Is he actually any good ? Hear his name every summer linked with prem clubs
No.

We need a significant lift this season to guarantee top 4. If Kane is indeed out until March; a striker will be a priority in this window.

For me, a deal for Bale season should be done. Get him in to save this season and carry us through the next whilst our younger talent gets up to speed (Sess, Clarke, Parrott).

His injury record is not actually any worse than Kane's; its just played up a lot in the media.

40m fee
20m wages over 1.5 seasons (approx 300k per week)

Sell him on to China or USA for 30-40m summer 2021 and he works out not much more than Llorente cost us - and that's not taking into account the commercial revenue he would bring - I'm pretty sure those stadium sponsors would like him here.

Several suggestions from earlier in the window that Madrid might consider a deal of Eriksen plus £27m - cash required to pay off Bales wages above £300k per week.

Problem then is we have Bale on s contract for say 3 years @ £300k PW. His current commercial contracts which might help to pay wages are linked to him playing for Madrid so we might get some of those but substantially reduced £s as Spurs don't have the pulling power or worldwide fan base of Madrid

Might also have other Spurs players wanting wage rises in line.

Forget selling to China as the wage caps coming in will be a fraction of his earnings - and US clubs have never paid anything like £300k PW. So we may need to assume we have him for the full 3 years at £300k PW £15m pa or £45m over 3 years.

So I'm not saying impossible, but vpcertainly a lot more expensive than you think.

But he knows PL so minimum time for integration, and could cover Kane's injury period in a front line with Son and Dele to score goals.

We haven’t been an elite club since the mid 80s
Not even close to top bracket.
The levels to which we have fallen are epitomised by the absolute idoloising of a manager that allowed us to play in the CL four times and lost a final.
The club are STILL selling CL final 2019 t shirts.

We are a small club with a big history and a big ground. Our players suffer from the same small time syndrome as our fan base.

“To Nearly Do Is Enough”
Can't you let me dream?

All we need is to resign crouch and llorente then get another couple of players who can hoof the ball over the midfield and hope that one of these can then control the ball outside the box and lay it off to son or Kane to score :mourhandlaugh:

There are too many reasons why we shouldn't sign him... it shouldn't even brought up to debate.
One being he's probably days away from failing a doping test

Well, many a true work spoken in jest and all.

If our tactic for the next five months is to do just that, we will need a large lump to hoof it to. Fuck all point playing Moura - he can barely control it on the floor, let alone the air.

Cantwell is very similar to Dele in the sense that he has a free role when Norwich have possession and he looks to get on the end of things rather than offer much in their build-up play. I have seen little or no vision in his game.
Cantwell's a good young player who could develop into a great at the right club (not Norwich). He'd be a good acquisition.

Falls into the same category as Tom Davies who's struggled under a succession of leaden Everton managers. I've always thought there's a great player in there trying to get out.
