Whilst I agree that lack of investment is the reason weve declined...itd be nice to see some actual proof we could have spent all this money before blaming it all on Levy....we simply dont/didnt have the revenue of the other big 6 so we cannot compare ourselves to them

This is the reality of modern football..money almoat always determines long term sucess
sad, unromantic but true

World record profit!

How many billions and how many lost cups would it take for you to say enough is enough.

How many more wasted years could you take.

Another 5, 10, 15 maybe?
He is a fucking half wit hiding behind his balance sheets. Penny wise pound stupid, in 16/17 we were three world class players short of being a league and cup winning side. He under invested then sold the best RB in the country to a direct rival. I'm telling everyone here and now that was the moment. He will never see a moment like that again whilst he is involved in the decision making of Tottenham Hotspur. Shakespeare said it best

There is a tide in the affairs of men / Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune.”

He pissed away our fortune for low net spend.

I don’t know, we never heavily backed Poch financially so that’s a guessing game. My guess is he would have won something with additions in the right areas.

Do you think Klopp or Pep would be winning things with this squad, I can’t see it.

He's not a half wit mate, that much I am certain of, he is the opposite, very clever and doing a fantastic job for his bosses.

However, he seems to be losing his edge a bit I think because I see a huge backfire on the horizon.

He was just saying the other day that he "isn't afraid of selling our top players to rivals" as well regarding Eriksen, you can't make it up mate.

What he really means is, he isn't afraid of making a fortune from rivals who "obsess about spending" but at the same time he will complain about clubs spending money when his own spending comes into question.

Happy to participate in modern day football spending when it means making money but eager to complain about it when it means spending it.

If Eriksen went to United he would improve them massively imo.

I agree with Shakey

Great post over on Spurs Community Daniel Levy ES Exclusive Interviews

Brings up some great points, unbiased opinion and definitely thought provoking.

Well worth a read
No it wasn’t. It was fucking bollocks. Biased as fuck. “Everything good that has happened has happened in spite of Levy”. Utter shite.

Not stunned you enjoyed it. Hey, maybe start another poll that you’ll lose by a mile. Show how much your finger is on the pulse with the rest of the fans. Mate.

Ha! Only the poll aint about me, is it.
But since you mention it, I'll bump another poll to the top of the board,
The What's gone wrong poll started when the flaws in the squad become apparent earlier this season.
Seems my finger was right on the pulse with that one, buddy.

Just a reminder to anybody who thinks that we can fix this team with transfers and make everything better again, this is what Levy had to say on that, read it for what it is.

On transfers:

Levy, however, distanced the club from doing any business during the January transfer window, adding: “Jose is on record as saying what we need now is to get the players playing better, which is what they are doing.

“He’s made it clear he is not looking for new players in January. He is happy with what he’s got and that’s why he said that.”

On lack of spending:

“There are lots of circumstances why sometimes you don’t do a transaction. It wasn’t a case that we didn’t have money. We have to get rid of this obsession in England of spending money. It just doesn’t happen overseas.

“There is an amount we have allocated to spend each year in terms of net investment in the team. If you compare us to certain other clubs, they will have more money to spend. It doesn’t frighten us.”

On selling players to rivals:

“We are honestly not scared to trade with our rivals.”

On finishing in the top four:

“Firstly, there’s no guarantee to finish in the top four. Nobody has the divine right to be there. We all come back and watch football all the time because it is so competitive.

“Wouldn’t it be boring if we were guaranteed to be there?

Sounds like we have very ambitious owners, don't you think?

I love the line "we have to get rid of this obsession with spending money. It doesn't just doesn't happen overseas"

The most expensive football transfers ever

I honestly don’t believe a Chairman of a large football club thinks that foreign clubs don’t spend money. Do you believe he doesn’t know? Do you really believe Levy isn’t aware of the Neymar and Mbappe transfers? Do you think he’s forgotten he got a pile of cash for Bale?

Isn’t it more likely he was talking about the obsession itself? The idea that Jim fucking White and his stupid fucking tie is probably more of a big deal than FA Cup final day now? That we firmly believe the more money we spend on a player the better he will be? Maybe it was the obsession of the money above the player he was talking about?

It's more likely that he is trying to find excuses for our lack of spending and thinks most supporters are stupid enough to swallow it under the guise of "doing things the right way" and I have to say, it's working because our owners always avoid blame for our failure, when will THEY fall on the sword? Or are they untouchable because of building us a stadium?

ENIC are scrooge mcducking this football club, the blind loyalty of some towards them just doesn't allow them to see it.

Fair enough. I just think it was a daft thing to say as it is so easily misinterpreted. But I do believe he meant the price tag shouldn’t reflect ability, rather than him being in the dark that other teams actually spend money.

Oh he knows foreign clubs spend money, after all, we have benefitted from that more than most clubs, he isn't stupid but he sure does think the paying supporters are, as do our owners imo.

Because there's no such thing as trickle-down economics. It was and always has been a terrible misinterpretation of economics, utilized to push bad policies founded under magical thinking instead of common-sense.
I know there isn't, it's a bunch of bollocks, a lie spun by very rich corps to convince poor people that their continued wealth through austerity measures will benefit them in the long run and yet history shows no examples of this ever happening.
