I'm usually in the 'not too many additions' camp and think the odd one or two are required but my god we need many changes and additions.
Big time. At least there isn’t much debate about us having a squad problem now. The issues are plain to see.

Agreed. And if you listen closely to his latest press conferences, the tone seems to have altered slightly from "we'll do nothing, the squad is fine" to very non-committal.That he played defense today makes me think Mou has wizened up to that.
I hope.
Tonali please.
Just based off the fact he's 19 and dominating a game in which his team find themselves down to 10 men. He's got one hell of a future.
Anyone seen him play more consistently?
Levy has always been clear on that. There is money available if needed.Agreed. And if you listen closely to his latest press conferences, the tone seems to have altered slightly from "we'll do nothing, the squad is fine" to very non-committal.
Links like the Lemar one seem too left field not to have a grain of truth to them (if that makes sense) which indicates to me that there's money to be spent.
The tits for sure. I haven’t seen much of him in real time, but he will be headed to a very large club soon I would have to believe.
Going back to the last José press conference - there was actually something interesting he highlighted: namely that Klopp came into Liverpool at the end of 2015 (?) and has had something like 8 transfer windows to build the squad he wanted.Levy has always been clear on that. There is money available if needed.
I just hope Jose has eyed up what players he needs to be able to play his football properly.
Obviously this will take more than one window to implement fully but like Poch he must be given the chance to succeed.
Have it on good authority that he'll be joining Poch's next club, been sold on the idea of sitting on the bench maturing until he gets to make his debut once he turns 26, best way to develop. He was exceptional today.
And that was against a team competing for the title. Will be interesting to see where he heads.
At least Poch gave them minutes, Jose looks to the bench, sees young players and just turns away againHave it on good authority that he'll be joining Poch's next club, been sold on the idea of sitting on the bench maturing until he gets to make his debut once he turns 26, best way to develop.
Levy (and Poch) made mistakes in those two windows for sure. Poch was too set on certain players and not willing to listen on alternatives when the deals he wanted fell through (De Jong, Grealish). And Levy could have also been faster in settling deals.Going back to the last José press conference - there was actually something interesting he highlighted: namely that Klopp came into Liverpool at the end of 2015 (?) and has had something like 8 transfer windows to build the squad he wanted.
For what it's worth, I think Poch was let down with the lack of signings two summers ago - yet did have enough time in the job to display inadequacies in certain departments (it really does feel like he wanted to get the fuck out of there in the dying months).
Early days for Mourinho, and perhaps it's a blessing that he was brought in with enough time before this January window to find out who needed to stay/go in the squad.
Because it's clearly a model that works, I think about what Liverpool would be doing in this scenario - and you'd suppose they would spend whatever the cost is on a first choice target to fix deep problems (hello, new CDM) and potentially pay a premium to tie up young potential ahead of the summer.
We have to 'kill our darlings' in the next two windows. Even as layman fans, most of us can spot the players who have aged themselves out of contention or are simply not good or consistent enough.Levy (and Poch) made mistakes in those two windows for sure. But we also shot ourselves in the foot by allowing Poch to be as loyal to the squad as he was. Had we been willing to sell off players we would have replaced them. Rather than allow Eriksen to run out his deal and Jan and Dier to turn into shades of their former selves.
Agree on the most part.We have to 'kill our darlings' in the next two windows. Even as layman fans, most of us can spot the players who have aged themselves out of contention or are simply not good or consistent enough.
Aurier, Dier, Vertonghen (sorry SuperJan, but I'm thinking clinically here), Rose, Wanyama. Christ, Hugo might need replacing if his left arm is now fucked.
There may even be question marks over Lucas if that Lemar link is to be believed.
Plus we need to be very very careful when Eriksen goes. It's a bit damning that he's been able to get himself back in the starting lineup (though injuries will have contributed to this) and would indicate we need a creative player coming in whenever he's off.
I agree with those but I'm 50/50 over Jan. If he wants to commit for another couple of seasons then I'd happily keep him at the club. He's certainly not in his prime anymore but still capable of putting a solid shift in.We have to 'kill our darlings' in the next two windows. It takes a special kind if stupid or stubborn to look at our squad of 2 years ago and decide that the only player in the world that could improve it was Frenkie de Jong.Levy (and Poch) made mistakes in those two windows for sure. Poch was too set on certain players and not willing to listen on alternatives when the deals he wanted fell through (De Jong, Grealish). And Levy could have also been faster in settling deals.

Yeah you are right - Skipp, Tanganga, KWP, Foyth, Lo Celso, Sanchez all got so many minutes under Poch recently its a pity they won't develop further with this dinosaur cunt in charge innit. At least Poch gave them minutes, Jose looks to the bench, sees young players and just turns away again

Talking shit mate, Poch getting admiration for playing youth and giving the academy kids a chance is the biggest blatant fucking lie about the man. Absolute bullshit
And I said that before he went, and said it was a myth.Talking shit mate, Poch getting admiration for playing youth and giving the academy kids a chance is the biggest blatant fucking lie about the man. Absolute bullshit
