Agree with you Sammy. No excuse for DM not being first thought in any transfer conversation. But if we did this too many times then what would we do for excuses for our other underperforming players?

Really like the look of Phillips of Leeds, could be the answer at holding mid. Strong but mobile, good on the ball and good positional sense. Always looked impressive when I’ve seen him in championship games, but wanted to keep a close eye on how he did tonight against Woolwich, only half hour in but I’m impressed, Ozil hasn’t had a sniff so far.

Phillips looking very good for Leeds tonight, exactly what we are missing in the middle. Takes a decent set piece too.
Such a rounded skill set, tenacious, works hard, presses well, wins the ball (Even this season he's still averaging 3.5 tackles a game), technically very good, good engine and can play football too. He's a 6 really, but played as that lateral 6/8 (as with Kante at Chelsea with Jorginho central) in Sarri's Napoli 433.
