Good riddance. He'll be quality at Inter and won't have to work half as hard, and maybe Lo Celso will finally get a few starts.
He was fucking wank against Colchester in September and didn't set the world alight against Middlesborough. Granted, it's an easier league than the PL but it won't be enough to make him quality. He'd have to join the MLS for that to happen.

what makes it a 'clear step back'?

They're an HUGE club that were poor last decade (to their standards) but seem to be getting back to their best with the new ownership, a proper squad, and one of the best managers in Conte.

Their immediate future looks bright.

The Italian League is nowhere near where it used to be a decade ago. The football is slow and some of the teams in the bottom half would struggle in the Championship. Inter is a huge club, but are still far from the level they were when Mourinho was in charge. They are on the rise, but as things stand now, I view it as a step back.

A step back?

In the last 10 years Inter have won Serie A, Coppa Italia (twice) and Champions League.

They have built a strong squad with the likes of Lukaku, Sanchez, Godin, Babosa and are probably more likely to win a trophy than Spurs.

I disagree so much! Serie A and Italian football has been dead for years. And it's very unlikely Inter will win the league or CL the next years. Although Eriksen will probably flourish immensely there though because of the slow tempo and low quality opponents.

Guess Eriksen's gonna get a comfortable life at Inter, but IMO it's a waste to spend what should be his best years as a footballer there. He was on his way to become one of Spurs' greatest players of all time and last summer he had his heart set for Barca or Real, but now all of that is gone. His fall from grace was immense

We've previously seen quotes from Ndombele & GLC about Poch coaxing them to sign.
....Not at all, but we know from De Jong we bid and that Poch had tried to coax him too.
Employee does Employers bidding...news @ 10

why would we persue Grealish if the gaffa wasn't behind it.
Perhaps we should ask Jack Clarke

Winks / Sissoko + Eriksen or Dele - Who's the broken one(s)?
The point was/is all that we know is that we played the diamond with these folks. Broken down = shit, it's a POS MF relative to what we had...but that wasn't the point... The diamond was played with these players and not Dembele and Wanyama...two players that most everyone, IMO, on the board would prefer. This is what we know. That is fact not hearsay.

He never was fit and bearly was throughout the enitire diamond 'era', so what's you're point here?
Again, his fitness was not my point when I asked
If Wanyama were healthy in your estimation would he be playing Winks at the base or would Vic be there?
but what was my point is that had Wanyama been fit IN YOUR ESTIMATION would Poch have played Winks at the base. It's a simple question. In MY estimation Poch would have been playing Wanyama. And I imagine if we polled this whole forum 95%-plus would agree.

Early 18/19 season he made the comment about 2 strikers whilst Dier & Dembele were both in the mix
We played with two strikers this weekend. We have/had played 352/3412 often. That's two strikers, no diamond. Therefore we can conclude that Poch's words of support for 2 strikers does not necessarily mean a diamond formation and considering the formation, IIRC, was never used prior to the loss of Dembele and Wanyama it would be more than reasonable to conclude that this was emergency tactics.

Given your hasty rejection of my prior "stanza"; I ressurect my point to you; why not seek out a DM rather than compromise your whole previous ethos trying to fudge a system that you're not equipped for?
And the hasty rejection was because we don't know any of what you said we knew. There is no incontrovertible proof nor any firsthand account. Everything is hearsay, paper conjecture, and 2+2=5 stuff. To believe that stuff is to believe Hercules and ITK. And we don't know that he did not seek out a DM. But since there was never any foreign spot open on the roster why would you lay that turd at Poch's doorstep? Who's more likely to have been the holdup, the coach whose job depends on the talent he is given or the chairman who's a notorious tightwad?

It's all based on hearsay. And if we're gonna chop a man down, assassinate his character and shine a dim light on his time with us shouldn't we at least give him the benefit of dealing in (verifiable) facts? I don't like this piling on and narrative building I see going on eg Poch's training methods have worn the delicate little flowers down, or Poch was too persnickety or Poch was this or that. These players suck now because they suck. Some sucked during his time. But most suck now. They sucked with the diamond and now they suck without the diamond. And many individually sucked before but were made to look good in Poch's setup. I'm not saying you are saying any of these things but I did feel you built an argument on false or unverifiable assumptions which feeds into the narrative.

Why did he go full diamond we will never know the true reason but I'm betting, considering we didn't do it before DemYama (MousVic? WanBele? you choose) and did almost immediately after they were no more, that the decision was predicated on maximizing the qualities of the current personnel and not a deep held tactical belief going forward. He may have felt it was the best way to get the most out of them. And decisions made in the fog of war are never optimal.

I don't think Mendes has a stake in Wolves, the Chinese owner of wolves,(Fosun - owned by - Guo Guangchang) through a holding company (Shanghai Foyo), bought a stake in a holding company (Start) of Mende's agency (Gestifute). This was primarily to set up a joint venture in the Chinese market I think. But obviously meant Mendes would be helping his business associate with the Wolves project

You may be right. But I read somewhere that Mendes has a slightly more direct interest in Wolves success, possibly came out when .various Championship clubs ( when Wolves were competing in the championship) complained like hell as a number of very good Portuguese players joined Wolves at knock down prices which suggested the direct interest.

But think it's probably as clear as mud.

The Eriksen saga is like a really bad episode of neighbours or home and away. Only Tottenham could play a player nearly every game that don't want to be at the club.Really could not see any other club in the top 6 playing him

As an Australian I take great offence at you using that trash as an analogy. Crappy drama that nobody wants to watch about cheating partners with best friends.

The tv shows you mentioned are shit too.

Liverpool played Coutinho until the day he left and he gave them 110% ... De Maria played 27 games at Utd even when judged the worst signing ever ... Ozil gets game time at Woolwich and he's a shadow off the player he was ... you simply can't put your best players in the reserves unless you have a spare 100m player to stand in for them ... and we don't. Eriksen on a bad day is still a very good payer, he's just not Eriksen on a good day.

Very poor management from the club, poch and jose. As soon as he decided he was off he should of been frozen out. Hes taken valuable playing time away from GLC who everytime hes on the pitch gives the team a spark and intensity. These managers are paid millions yet cant make simple decisions. Eriksen is a good player that's all. Going to inter is an early retirement to stroll about and decent shopping for his missis.

Eriksen going to inter is such a sideways move. We could give him the Same wages. Inter are shit in Europe. Don’t understand

I think in the long run it is even step back.

Inter used to be significant when Mourinho was there. Now they are shovelling in cash, but doing so above their weight as it seems. If they don't achieve something big like really soon this bubble will burst.

And I mean to go play next to Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez from playing next to Kane and Son... pathetic. But deserved. Faster he fooks off the better.
