Interesting mix, I like that you've out in a relatively unknown player as let's be honest a team like Spurs, or anyone really wouldn't have a strike force consisting of Kane, Cavani and Werner to choose from so at least the AZ striker brings a bit of rationale to the table. Appreciate the response.

Wow, I'm totally ashamed of myself. I wrote "Probably a Mourinho type of player", when I really meant "Probably NOT a Mourinho type of player". Pretty important word to forget about.

Someone similar to Boadu could be Donyell Malen. Dutch international striker. Even though we'd hate him for his past with the Scum, I think we'd like it even more when he'd score against them. That's actually another thing I like about Boadu. He rejected Woolwich at a very young age.

IMO, it is time to decide about Kane's future. Is it with us? Then get another quality striker that can replace him in games. Keep his mileage lower. Otherwise, cash in and rebuild.

I agree with you. But the problem is we cash in and it will be a great payday...so do you trust the current regime with reinvesting all that? It needs to happen, but that's the start of a new and larger problem in my view.

But are anyone of those 8s you mention, apart from Ndombele if he gets his act together, anywhere near good enough to replace Dembele, who was one of if not our most important player in the Poch era?

How many do we need to be better than Dembele though? Ndombele is a better 8 than Dembele was. Lo Celso passes the ball (and has better vision) then Dembele, may not as good a dribbling but a pass will transition you quicker than a dibble.

It's not the 8 part that's the issue, it's the 6 part we desperately need.

We also desperately need a left back.

And we seriously need to add some composure to that forward group. Moura, Lamela, Son, Alli - all capable of moments but all are far to erratic, unreliable and fritter away build up after build up - and when they are all doing it at the same time it's killing us week after week.

What’s the latest on Piatek?

Classic Levy or player not keen
He's in the Milan match day squad for tomorrow.

I assume that it is all hanging on Eriksen leaving. Gedson coming in took up our last foreign player slot I believe (I could have the math wrong tho). So even if we finalized the deal we could not register him to play until Eriksen (or any other foreign player but he is the one most likely to/set to leave) is out the door.

My hope personally is that Eriksen gets finalized tomorrow/early Monday and we have Piatek done on early Tuesday at the latest so he can play Norwich on Wednesday.

Do we still have Wanyama on our books? It's not like he's going to ever start again for us. Better for us and him to part company last year.
Still on our books. We apparently had a deal done with Club Brügge in the summer but it collapsed because Wanyama was not willing to lower his salary enough.

Hertha Berlin were interested in December but it seems to have gone cold.

But I agree. It is better for all parties if we part ways. There were rumblings of Galatasaray being allowed to negotiate with him.

Yesterday's game was a good example as to why Kane is so important.

He can play multiple styles. Win crosses, fight of cbs, shoot from distance, back to goal, Headers, defend, press. His only weakness is his pace. The only striker in the epl that is maybe better is Aguero- but he doesn't defend.

Yesterday showed that we can't win aerial balls, cant fight off CBs and can't do anything with our back to goal. This makes defending against us pretty straightforward.

Incredible that people think selling Kane is a good idea. We haven't even found a capable Eriksen or dembele replacement yet.

Must be enjoying the gravy train of decent money while he can. The way he was playing or incapable of playing, it seems he may struggle in much lower leagues than mentioned.

As someone else pointed out, it is usually harder to sell off players when you are a capital/big city club. You are usually paid over the standard in the rest of the country and the living standard is top notch as well, not saying that players that play for say Newcastle don't live in luxury but you get the point. Which is why players in clubs like ours usually jump to other big city teams unless they get paid very well by their new side.

The problem is just that. He might want to run out his contract knowing that he won't be getting a better offer elsewhere and his body no longer allows him to play at a competitive level. It's sad that it has gotten to this point, but he's only a waste of space in the squad now.
