I was at the 91 Semi-final. Was there with my late father. Will never forget that match, us hugging and celebrating. Thanks Gazza and crew. That there is what football and 'your' club is about right there.

If only they could bottle that stuff, I would buy it by the lorry load.
I flew in brother and went with my cousin from Crouch End . Had to buy off touts and ended up in the Arse end . Had to be evacuated by stewards after the 2nd goal because we couldn't control it .
Moved to our end but had to stand in aisle .
Gazza free kick , stopping their double.
Donkey Adams in tears being taunted in the end.
Then watched the final victory back in Yukon.

Your memories are very precious , the high and lows are brilliant and painful. I agree with you .
My point is they didn't end in true glory as defined by Mr Nicholson .

Nah, you were originally talking down on the notion of fondly regarding great games that didn't bare silverware.... Espousing an attitude that only the trophies matter.

Yet.....

"....Aiming so high, even failure will have an echo of glory".

If you're quoting the great man, I'd suggest you ought to feel great pride in an occasion such as the CL final or our CL run under Redknapp.

Levy can fuck off if we end up having to play Lucas Moura up front for the rest of the season. And I'm not biting muh "can't find a proper striker lads soz we tried", that just proves the set up is fucking shit if you can't identify a striker who is capable - on paper at least - to play up front and do the fucking job.

Yes as the great man said
(An echo of glory)
I have pride in those runs/games but they didn't end in "true glory"but l agree maybe an echo.

If we don't bring in a striker, I think it's more a matter of being just bad at identifying targets/getting deals done than a matter of not wanting to spend money (since a loan is also a possibility, money is clearly not an issue). It's obvious we need one. Failure to bring one would be just bad management.

He has done it before allowed the club to struggle if the price is too much for him the ball is in his court, if he wants to try and get top four then he backs his manager if not mid table we finish so try selling that to the sponsors Mr chairman.

I was there to seems so long ago back then I would not had believed that after 29 years we would have so little to show.

so will anyone even try and defend the club if we do not sign a striker in the next 10 days ?

1962 European Cup semi final second leg at WHL against Benfica and the great Eusebio. The greatest Spurs side ever on the park. 1-3 first leg, 2-1 second leg- lost 3-4 aggregate. Benfica went on to beat Real Madrid in final 5-3.

If we had bought Bale at the start of this window I'm convinced that we would be in touching distance of the top 4 now, Chelsea and Leicester continue to drop points, it was there for us, surely the financial implications of getting back into the top 4 it was worth it even if he is getting on with no sell on value....

I just don't understand the club at times, they build this fantastic new stadium and refuse to give us a team worthy of gracing it.
