Summary for the day for those who dint want to trawl through the pages , Basically if a transfer was successful it’s because poch wanted them, if they were shit it’s because levy was a tight cunt and poch wanted someone better , oh and we still haven’t signed a striker! :mourshock:

No. DL is in control of this club from top to bottom. There is evidence of that everywhere. Beyond that there is very little to be gleaned. We do know that Poch had some input (final call on this one or that one?) hence his elevation to Manager from first team coach. But we also know that all transfers were within the constraints of our stadium-build budget, 50% turnover, etc etc etc.

The problem now is people revising history to discredit Poch because they cannot handle the problems that are clear to see currently with their club. They are there, they were there and they will continue to be there for some time in the future as it doens't look like an immediate fix. Some still want to lick the honey on the leaves of the twig but it will be no consolation. A DM won't do it. A backup striker won't do it. These things are only bandaids (plasters?) for problems that have been here for some decent amount of time. DL runs the club very well and has done a masterful job raising the profile of the club. Poch did an extraordinary job of accelerating that process, so much so that the entitled mob now can't bear to look at what we are now. I sense that both of them wish they could have a do over of the previous 2 years.

And for me, thus far, Mou is still a cunt that I never wanted but he is blameless in all of this. Much or most of this predates him.

Yeah, but we're familiar with a different paradigm, true free-agency enforced legally and accepted in supporter's minds. It is coming to that in football I believe. It is unsustainable otherwise. I know if I was in one of these player's position I would satisfy my contract...see what I did there? Satisfy instead of 'run down'. The Bosman gives the right but too many folks with incentives at odds with that of the player have a say in preventing that.

I have no issues with Eriksen's contract situation. I do have issues with his play the last 2 seasons. But it was the club's job to take action and the last time to do something about it was when, apparently, Poch decided (at least that's what Spursidol Spursidol and SchmoodSpur SchmoodSpur would have you believe but) that he didn't want any transfers in summer 2018. Two years before contract end or accept that the player will see it out to its termination and leave on a free. Why let your old club get 50M when it could go in your pocket? Transfer fees make no sense and neither do these longs contracts (from a top player's perspective).

Glad to see you misquoting me and totally misunderstanding what happens at Spurs. Par for the course.

Really time you changed your name to Todd2002 so that everyone knows they are dealing with a teenager with no understanding of football management matters.

Really? Show me a quote in that post? Hard to misquote when I didn't quote you at all. Do you not know what "misquoting" means? How about mischaracterizing or misconstruing? Would they be more appropriate?

And little if anything in that post was related to "what happens at Spurs" and was pertaining to contracts and Bosmans. It doesn't surprise me that you got that wrong too.
