To be honest, I don't play FM so I know jack sh*t about transfers but I watched this kid play twice and both times he took the game by the scruff of the neck (in places) and just lit it up.

3 absolute quality goals in 2 games. No doubt that he's on everyone's radar but the kid is class and will end up in the PL before too long.

Soooo we'll get the same for Eriksen that we got for Wimmer.

Or double Inter's starting offer.... Or 20m more than CE's dream teams were willing to pay..... Or a few million more than we paid for him..... And that we never ended up hiking him up to mega wages throughout any of his contract and thus had our money's worth and then some..... Depends on how you frame it. :)

Honestly this is exactly why it's so stupid when people here hear the first offer and go, "oh well just accept it Daniel, who cares about 5-10 million pounds??"

that’s fine as long as on the other side where we are trying to buy someone we don’t lose the target because we wanted more on the sale and lost the window of opportunity.

I don't doubt his ability to milk the most out of a deal like this (i.e. despite Eriksen being hypothetically free in the summer, it's in Inter's interest to get it done now for a conservative fee to avoid a wage bidding war with PSG or Real).

My critique of Levy comes from a seeming inability to take a hit on selling off flops, and going into purchase negotiations in a similarly hardball fashion (when more often than not the selling club holds most of the cards and can rightly tell us to get fucked).

How's Odegaard doing? Is he shaving yet?
Doing really well, he's the most attacking player in the league apparently (a ProFootballDB study calculated on goals, assists, key passes, key moves and shots. No, I don't know who they are either)

Yup, Levy's playing his cards right.

If true, a week ago, Inter doesn't make a 20 million pound offer. They've found themselves 4pts back behind Juve and Lazio are 2pts back with a game in hand.

Inter are desperate and Levy knows that very well.

He hard-balled us to a circa 30m million saving on Ndombele & GLC's asking prices this past summer.... In effect that paid for Sessengon.

But yeh... On the flipside: Moutinho.

As for flops; I think it's fair to say that if someone like GKN lingering was costing us too much money then he would dump him for a cut price if poss. If you think about it he was pretty swift to aid the original clear out under Poch too... Paulinho, Vlad etc. who were sold at a loss with minimal fuss. N'jie & Stambouli didn't exactly clog the squag up for long either. Vinny spend most of his time on loan.... People moaned about "only" 23m for Trippier this past summer.

Much like the fable Deadline-day specials; the truth surrounding our activity is much more of a mix-bag.

I'm blown away by this.... How many times does each team play each other in a season then?

There are 2 leagues, and three divisions in each league, all of which have 5 teams/clubs. You play the other 4 teams in your division 19 times, the other 10 teams that are in your league (but not your division) either 6 or 7 times, and then 5 teams from one division in the other league 4 times each (162 games total, although sometimes, games will be cancelled and not replayed, because they don't mean anything in the standings, so it may be 161 or 160). Basically, you play everyday from about the beginning of April until the beginning of October apart from about 16 days off total. Then, if you make the postseason, you play even more, and if you win the "World Series", you could play as many as 20 games in the postseason. the World Series generally goes into November, although it didn't for the first time in a long time this last season (ended Oct 30).

So... In short.... It's complicated, yeh?
