How can losing your best player be good for the club? Good for ENIC and Levy maybe but definitely not for the club.

I don't think we should sell Son or Kane (the most prolific strike partnership in PL history), but to explain the thought process it would be to assist in the painful rebuild. If you look at the ages of Sess, Gio, Tanguy, Bergy, Tanganga etc we are one or two seasons away from challenging for anything meaningful again.

If we take the Eriksen situation as an example if we had have sold him at his peak we could have re-invested but the fans would have been upset. Nobody knew he would turn out to be shit.

Even though we top the Forbes most valuable club in England list, we don't have the financial clout to spend as much as Burnley or Watford (we are 17th in the net spend league over the last 5 years) so we have to sell to buy.

I think it's safe to assume that there will be next to no spending not for the first time, can't worry about Chelsea they stay amongst it by pulling off big deals and winning stuff on regular basis.
Unfortunately we are always cursed with one thing or another, I have stopped worrying about it nothing we can do about it, but if we can get top six then that can't be bad.
Its a bit pointless comparing us with Chelsea. They regularly win trophies & actually go for them. Like you say, top 6 would be great considering what we put in.

Ask them again then. I'm not inclined to spend 24 hours a day on here sweet.
Still waiting Art Vandelay Art Vandelay . But it's bedtime over here mate.
I've got work tomoz.

Maybe ask me some other time, yeh?
Simple yes or no. Do you want us to be like City or Chelsea?

Chelsea apparently in for Havertz as well, although again it's the Daily Fail reporting it. If I'm honest, I think Havertz will go to Bayern.

If he did go to Chelsea then Barkley, Mount and RLC would probably be available. Don't rate Mount and Barkley too much, but I'd love RLC.

Comparing us to Chelsea is needless. They are well ahead of us. Since we last won a trophy they have won 3 league titles, a Champions League, 2 Europa Leagues, 3 FA cups and a League cup. They are lightyears ahead of us.

We consider success as finishing in the top 4 and reaching a final, Chelsea sack managers the same season as winning the Europa League, winning the FA Cup or even winning the double.

Ambramovic is an owner who is willing to pump money into the club and isn't bothered by it. He spent £35m on Danny Drinkwater and didnt bat an eyelid. He'll happily go and spend £150-200m this summer and won't lose any sleep. He knows what means success, which is different to our owner and chairman.

We have a different model, and very much more buy young and sell for profit. Lewis isn't bothered. He owns the company, that owns the company that owns Tottenham..

And before anyone starts saying I'm pessimistic, I'm not. I'm a realist. I'm proud of my club, but I also want us to go to a new level, otherwise we'll end up going back way before we go forward.

Yes. Absolutely yes.

Why wouldn't a football fan like to see thei club succesful.

A question for you ,friend. Do you think most Chelsea and City fans would rather be like us?

A simple yes or no.
No they wouldn't

But I wouldn't want to be where they are with how they've achieved it. They are everything wrong with football. Even had a gooner I know text me after Ajax away that our comeback to make the final is more special and will mean more to us than any of their bought success Chelsea or City have got, and I agree with him. Nothing will take away the memory I have of that night. Utter euphoria.

Whilst you may be right...get your tongue out of chelsea's arsehole, gary.

Won't tolerate that kind of nonsense on here.
