If Jose had a starting line-up with Rakitic, PEH, Winks and Alli in it with GLC on the bench he should be fired on the spot. In fact if he ever thought about that as a MF with GLC on the bench that should be enough to have him fired. That is a terrifyingly awful line-up that seems way too possible.
I can't wait to see that line-up sent out and see us play for the 0-0 tie before the game even starts. Maybe we can count how many times Kane crosses into the opposition half. I would say how many touches he has on the other side of the halfway line but I think counting to zero would be pretty boring.

Seems a bit overstating it, but I was thinking as I wrote that that Rakitic doesn't have an obvious natural spot in a 4-2-3-1 whereas GLC doesn't have an obvious natural spot in a 4-3-3
Neither guy will play 50 games of course, especially not Rakitic.
Bringing in one or two guys for leadership makes sense, but we don’t need to be hiring a team of geriatric doctors for next season. No offense to the senior citizens on this board.
GLC is by far the better than the 4 guys mentioned and the only player listed with any creativity.
it would be crazy to play any of those guys over him. He would be better than any of Rakitic, Alli, Winks or PEH. Plus without him in the line-up we would have zero creativity and have to resort to relying on Lame to play way to deep to get the ball and create magic out of nothing.
I think if we got Rakitic and had to start him because of Jose he could fit in a 4-3-3 with PEH between him and GLC.

At 32 he is a lot more limited in what he can do compared to when he was in his prime.
And I agree Jose probably does think he does which is why I would be concerned if we brought him in.
I think Jose sits better players to force Rakitic into the line-up and we suffer from a real lack of creativity because of it.
