I think this is a year, and supposedly a manager, that should see us taking it seriously like those Spanish teams.

i also don't think it is that difficult to take both the EL and EPL seriously. We get a huge advantage with our Co-efficient that we won't play a tough team until the knockout stages and even then perhaps not until the QF or SF.

There is zero reason why we can't compete in both. The notion that it is one or the other is completely false.

I do think that this year especially is a year in which we are clearly behind the top 4 teams, and perhaps behind Wolves and/or Leicester as well, so our chances to finish top 4 are slim. If one of Chelsea or United were in a down cycle or not looking to strengthen I would agree top 4 is more likely but I don't see that being the case this year. Liverpool and City are so far ahead of us I think even if they have a disaster season they still finish above us.
We will take the Europa seriously over the Carabao as the rewards for winning it are so much bigger than Carabao. Win Europa and we are seeded in number 1 Pot in CL. Win Carabao and we can enter Europa....marvellous,,,,
Let’s be honest we have more chance of winning europa

League Cup has fewer rounds though. And there is every possibility that most of the top 6 will play severely weakened teams like Liverpool and Woolwich did last season.

We could also get lucky like Man City and draw the lowest possible seed in every single round and then face a bottom half team in the final.

Okay ofcourse that's not gonna happen. Bring on away matches to PL opponents on every round.

Europa should be priority this year. A trophy, a chance at another trophy (Super Cup), get into the champions league, pot 1 in CL, prize money etc. So many great things, I hope Mourinho takes it seriously but I’m pretty confident he will

OH MY GOD. WE NEED HARRY KANE TO BEAT THIS TOP TEAMS...:mourlmao::mourlmao:

Hibernians of Malta were managed by Brian Talbot for a while, don't think he's still there. They come from the town of Paola, but would play their games at the National Stadium, as all the Premier games are played there. If we did draw them, in normal times, I'd be out there, but not getting on a plane anytime soon!
A sail boat from Dover? Jeez supporters these days...in my days we walked 4 months on Roman roads to get to away matches in Byzantine

What the fuck happened ?
thought i started this thread.

Edit: Now know why i didn't see a europa league thread started already.
This'll be my second from last post on this one, even when we win it.
Maybe one more post.

We(spurs) have got either : Aris Thessaloniki(greece), KF Laci(albania) or Lokomotiv Plovdiv(bulgaria)
in the 2nd Qualifying Round.
Draw tomorrow.

Well my dream of a Glentoran v Spurs match-up was shattered on Thursday last week against Motherwell as a stupid red card in the 52nd minute led to a scoreless match on a knife-edge turning into a 5-1 defeat.

Coleraine overcame Maribor away via a penalty shoot-out, and herein lies the lesson for Spurs in the qualifying rounds - much more chance of an upset in these one-off games. Even with a home draw.

Would be proper Spursy if we lost this game to a dodgy last minute pen

But hopefully those days are long gone under Jose
