Why?I was hoping Kane would be withdrawn - not started his pre-season training so cannt be fit enough to play a meaningful part in the 2 England matches in tyhe next 8 days or so.
Doubt if he'll be ready for more than 45 mins in the first PL match either with less than 2 weeks to go.
Looking at the squad Gomez is probably going to play left back. Can't see anyone else that can do it.Dier, Gomez, Mings. Keane are the 4 CB's left in the squad.
Plus Walker has played at CB.
England not that well endowed at CB atm

If he gets two games under his belt with England that will be the same as other players. Would you rather he played no games before the season?
Kane has a gym in his house and would have been doing his own training, so it’s impounded to know where his fitness levels are at.If he's not done any pre-season training yet then he's not fit.
What he should be doing right now is the pre-season training to build up fitness, and after one week of that he's probably good for 45 minutes of a relatively low intensity game (think of Spurs first game v Ipswich after one week of pre-season training). Doing more than that risks muscular injuries - and that is the last thing to risk in pre-season.
England's other players have already done 2 or 3 weeks training with their clubs so will be on a totally different level of fitness and their training will reflect that - and most will be at a level were they can play 90 minutes : Kane is a couple of weeks away from that.

Spursidol you seem to have a good grasp on the youth setup in England. Being an American what do you make of Anthony Gordon at Everton? I really like what I see of this kid. Is he thought of highly over there?
Thanks for that!Don't really know that much about him, other than he seems to be seen as Everton's next best chance of getting an academy hrough to their first team in a winger/cm role (and Everton Academy have produced a fair number of good youngsters over the years) .
He's an E u19 but England are producing a lot of good youngsters atm, and not sure he's regarded as being in the top tier of those so dont think he's standing out. But if he does well in Everton first team he will start to be better known/regarded.
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been named in the England squad for this month's matches against Wales, Belgium and Denmark but Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden have been left out.
They were sent home after last month's game against Iceland for breaching coronavirus quarantine guidelines.
Leicester's Harvey Barnes and Woolwich defender Bukayo Saka have both been called up for the first time.
Harry Maguire is included after being withdrawn from the last squad.
Manchester United captain Maguire, 27, was given a suspended prison sentence on the Greek island of Syros after being found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and repeated attempts of bribery.
The centre-back maintains his innocence and has appealed against the decision, which nullifies the conviction.
England play Wales in a friendly on 8 October, before Nations League fixtures against Belgium and Denmark on 11 and 14 October respectively, with all three games being played at Wembley Stadium.
More to follow.

What are the odds on Kane play at least 270 minutes for England in these pointless games?
Lets see if he gets a "slight" knock after being subbed off against united on sunday!Southgate will 100% flog him to death. He always does. The only way he doesn’t is if Kane gets a knock between now and when the squad meets up and we withdraw them.
