Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Steffen Iversen says to Norwegian media that himself wouldn't manage to play under Mourinho, but that Sørloth is more qualified to play in the premiership now than he was in 2018. As a Spurs supporter he would love Sørloth in Tottenham, but he still thinks he should chose Leipzig.

People slating the idea of Sorloth but begging for a striker. United have signed Ighalo, who had a horrible last couple of years at Watford. Sorloth didnt suit Palace, doesn't mean who won't suit us. He's done well in Turkey and for Norway of late. Give the lad a chance before slating him.

Of course I'd give him a chance, hope for the very best for him. But fuck me, he was useless at Palace. Let's get Vinny back whilst we're at it.

It's just mediocrity everywhere.

I'm not trying to make a direct comparison here, but we've seen players like Gnabry unable to make an impact for Stoke then go on elsewhere to become a superstar.

What I saw of Sorloth at Palace was bad, very bad but if he signs I'll give him a chance - it's just a bit uninspiring truth be told, much like our football yesterday.

Fair enough.

But it would be nice to have a second striker that is good enough to play against City, or play as part of a 2.
He's a decent striking partner to Haaland at Norway, a team which is on the uprise and probably will give Serbia a good fight in the Euro playoffs. I would much rather have Sørloth than a declining Josh King or Troy Deeney to be honest.

And realistically, which near top striker would think it is a good idea to come here and play second string to Kane?

It wasn't insane. He wanted to shore up the right side with Sissoko helping Doherty and put a more energetic presser, Lucas, in Dele's position. It just didn't work.

The real killer sub was removing Winks for Bergwijn. Then we lost all ability to play because Sissoko moved into the centre, after that we disappeared from the game. The shape and structure evaporated.

It was insane.

I couldn't think of a worse fit for the number 10 role than Lucas Moura and Sissoko shouldn't still be getting minutes at a club with top 6/8 aspirations but we all know this. Especially not in right midfield.

I said before the game that I wouldn't expect to see a Sissoko/Hojberg central midfield pairing but that's exactly what we saw when Winks went off. It doesn't work on paper and it doesn't work in reality.

The problem is Mourinho is wedded to his 4-4-2 system so even when he does bring on someone as limited as Sissoko he tries to shoehorn him into the system rather than playing to his strengths.

If we go to a 3 with Winks, Holjberg and Sissoko we probably have enough in there to make a fight of it in midfield. Build a base and then go from there.

But it seems Mourinho will never adopt the midfield 3 even though it is the only way to get Lo Celso and Ndombele into the same team and actually get us playing a higher quality of football.

Anyone that you pay enough.

Look, I understand what you're saying. I actually watch a lot of Palace (father in law has season tickets). I genuinely can't remember a single thing about Sorloth other than his making no impact.

If he's our choice, so be it.

Re Bale.

From someone super close....

Two parties making big strides. One making very small steps indeed.

He really is typecast as far as this one is concerned.

The frustration is building and it won't be long before RM and GB are looking seriously at alternative destinations.

Bale

Looks like Daniel 'pack of crisps' Levy is going to screw the pooch on this one again.

Probably doesn't need any bullshit itk for us to know this, though.

Exactly what Leicester fans said about Kane. Not all strikers blossoms before they reach mid 20's. He's got all the physical abilities, he just needs confidence and that he's believed in.

I'm not going to hide the fact that I'm excited about the idea. I thought Sørloth was dross myself until lately.

We need to scrap the 4-2-3-1 now, it isn't working. I'd like to see us go 4-3-3 and have Ndombele and Lo Celso ahead of Hojbjerg, we then have 2 players who can create chances, and Lo Celso works back very well.

Lloris
Doherty - Sanchez - Alderweireld - Davies
Hojbjerg
Ndombele - Lo Celso
Bergwijn - Kane - Son
That leaves us Dele, Lamela, Lucas, Winks, Sessengon, Sissoko, Gedson all to rotate, plus a new striker to come in.

Sorloth could be good, Mourinho's playing style might suit having a target man. I'm almost tempted to play him in the Dele role and keep lumping the ball to him so he can pass to Kane, it's not like we have a clear strategy anyway.

This is what we've all wanted. For 12 months now.

It isn't going to happen.

Mourinho isn't going to play Lo Celso and Ndombele together. He isn't going to play Bergwijn over Lucas. He loves Dier too much and Hojbjerg isn't a DM.

Agree and this is why he has to go. Its another Martial at United situation. There are some decent or potentially decent players there but he doesn't play them. Sessegnon not even on the bench yesterday, Sanchez is arguably our best central defender with Tobys drop off. Bergwijn all day over bang average Moura . He could try wing backs or 433 but its the same rubbish, same lineup game after game.

I think he was telling the truth, Levy himself knows it, he admitted in the documentary the squad needs to be rebuilt. At this point nobody wants any of our players except for Kane and Son.
But Ossie Wembley says it's not a player issue. So apparently Poch was wrong 2+ seasons ago, Levy was wrong in the doc, I've been wrong a long time, and anyone else that thinks our team is full of dross is wrong.

Yep. It's like on football manager where you just keep playing the exact same line up in hopes that you get a lucky break and a burst of confidence with upped morale.

This is what Jose seems to be doing. Subbing Dele off means nothing if he's right back in the starting line up against Southampton.

4231 didn't work at home to Everton. Playing the exact same way but with different players isn't going to matter.
