After 2 years not that bad, shame the clause is a bit low.€35-40m after two years, right of first refusal for three years after that.

After all the fucking Njies and Gedsons we deserved this one
Has to be. His desire is to play for Real. We're just lucky they don't want him at the moment. After 2 years not that bad, shame the clause is a bit low.
2 years of LB being not an issue seems fine. Gives us time to figure out what to do with Sess, invest in another player with the proceeds. It's not ideal but given the caliber of player he is/can be, seems like a reasonable risk. After 2 years not that bad, shame the clause is a bit low.
It's far from certain that they will buy him back, but as you said: we will find a solution if they do and we would have some money to spend. Absolutely no reason to worry about this deal.2 years of LB being not an issue seems fine. Gives us time to figure out what to do with Sess, invest in another player with the proceeds. He was ready to go on loan to Sevilla for a year rather than Man Ure to allow him the chance to play for Real in the future, he's not talking to Man Ure because they wouldn't give him the release clause. He might enjoy it so much, he won’t want to move again. Get him in and let’s win some bloody trophies
Yeh long term view is great but we can't write off this season. Without reinforcements we're fucked this year so a bit of short-term fixing is needed. Other clubs, especially in Europe do this type of deal all the time so if we can benefit, Real benefit and the player is happy, everyone's a winner. Not this deal, this is good.
It's the rest I'm worried about. It's like a little 2 year window to win something before our squad simply can't put off that huge rebuild.
A bit more of a long term view would be great.
We've been doing long term planning for years, didn't pay off in terms of trophies. No point of long term planning while Jose is in charge that's not what he is here for. We've got one of the best strikers in our history who's 27, Sonny who is up there with the best wingers in the league who's 28, one of our best ever goalkeepers who is 33 and Toby who in his time here has been one of our best centre backs in club history who's 31. Time to stop planning too far ahead and make sure this current crop of players don't go the way of Dembele and Vertonghen and win something in their time at the club. Not this deal, this is good.

Because I am not familiar with these types of clauses does that mean that we have him for two years for sure at which point Real can choose to buy him back.
And then after that we have him for 3 years unless we decide to sell in which case Real can choose to match any offers?
Or could Real buy him back at any point during those two years or beyond?
