He did play CB last night and cost us the game - utter gash
He did. He clearly thought he was Carlos Alberto or Beckenbauer. However, credit where it's due, other that that I thought he was OK cutting out a couple of dangerous crosses and a few good forward passes.

However, he did have a good game for us at CB last year.

Is he a CB? No. He's barely a LB!

Now we have spun off into the realms of fantasy.

Fantasy???? How?

What on earth has "Wales biggest games in decades" got to do about whether Davies is a CB and whether he should play as CB for us? Earlier I posted his PL appearances for us at CB over the last few years and the coaches also agree that he's not a CB and should play at LB/LWB.

The fuck???? Are you on drugs or something?

Can I just remind you... You're clinging stupidly that the claim that you don't think the guy can and indeed doesn't play CB....

There you go... In black and white.... There he is playing CB in a team doing well.... Not just the proverbial meaningless friendlies.

FFS! :mourfacepalm:

Me on drugs?

I've never denied that Davies CAN play CB (just as Harry CAN play in goal). Indeed, on the rare occasions he has played CB for us, he's been OK.

However is he a CB? - No. Should he ever play CB for us? - No. We've got numerous specialist CBs, Dier, Alderweireld, Tanganga, Sanchez, CCV that should be ahead of Davies for the CB position.

He plays for Wales at CB because he's one of two PL defenders in the squad and I'd play him out of position at CB rather than the Championship/League 1/kids alternatives.

However for us, he takes his chance up against Reguilon and Cirkin for our LB spot. He's NOT a CB.

Airfixx Airfixx carry on your meaningless Disagrees - it means nothing to me, other than highlighting your inability to argue your opinion.

Dier - Injured!!!
Tanganga - Injured!!!
CCV - On loan!!!
Rodon - Not registered for EL

(How about you get you facts straight????)

Sanchez - Played
Toby - Rested for legitimate reasons as far as we know (yeh, yeh, We knoe you prefer to "play them til they break").

Davies - HAS played "ok" for us at CB (your words, FFS!)..... Is now a regular CB for his country too.

Ben played well at CB in the EL just 1 week ago; it was perfectly reasonable for Jose to select him there again this week.

Get a grip.

(I gave you an X, because you're now just descending into being a general hater with your "barely a LB" comment.)

If I hated him surely I wouldn't give him credit for the couple of OK games he's had at CB. I've given you the reason why he's a regular CB for his country - the limited alternatives. We have alternatives.

As for last night, I'd have played Alderweireld. At 31, two games a week is easily doable. I'm sure he'll play again Sunday partnering either Dier or Sanchez.

I wasn't aware that CCV had gone out on loan, and forgotten about Rodon.

Being "a hater".... (If you don't understand that notion. Look it up... I'm through explaining silly shit to you.)

The reason he plays is that he's been doing a good job for them for some years now.... Otherwise they'd have replaced him with a specialist CB.

We have alternatives.

Toby (see below) or Ben (who had played perfectly well in the EL a week ago).

(See above list.... Stop ignoring reality.)

So what?

Jose evidently thought Toby needed a rest. He and the medical staff have insight.... You have fuck all.

I'm sure he'll play again Sunday partnering either Dier or Sanchez.

Me too..... Especially because he's been rested to ensure he's fit for the bigger more important fixture this weekend.

He scored 8 in 25 in the PL last season - that was deemed to be a shit year for him

by comparison, Son was said to be 'on fire' last season and scored 11 in 30 PL games
Son contributes a lot more, even if he doesn't get a goal or assist.

Dele just walks around and slows down/stops all of our attacks.
Yes, very clear. Tons of footage in the documentary showing he doesn't work hard in training (in matches now too)!!

Also a lot of proof from Thursdays game. Waving his arms around like a spoilt kid then passing it backwards and still sulking after.

The difference in maturity between Alli, Dier and Kane when they're called in for a chat with Jose on the documentary is crazy!!! Kane and Dier both speaking with him like men, while Alli just sat there smiling like a school kid being told off by his teacher.

That's still your interpretation rather than clearly.

He seems to be the sort of boy who thinks his talent is enough, like a pretty girl believes her looks are all the qualifications she needs.

Take that out and they have very little left to cope with life.

Very sad, but I have no sympathy with wasters,.Dele is not mature enough to deal with his changed circumstances, and cannot be given endless chances.

This world is littered with talented derelicts.

Am I the only one thinking of Zoolander now

He has played 26/57 appearances at CB for Wales.

......Ignoring facts is not a good look.
He plays mainly on the left of a back 3 for Wales not as a pure CB in a 2. The guy was stating that he's known as a CB/ LB and is as comfortable in either position, which he isn't. Anyway i don't like the bloke he's a pretentious wanker with his head up his arse, a fucking expert from thousands of miles away who spouts on like he knows more than anyone else.
I've not got a problem with you so i'm not getting into a pointless back and forth over it.

I did think that, initially, I did not give you that credit as that is what I've encountered by most supporters. It's the shiny objects for most. My understanding/recognition of what Dele is as a player is not a new phenomenon. Congrats to the many that are getting here now under the cover of incontrovertible evidence and abundant company. But in the early days there were slings and arrows from the shiny object loving masses for those of us that saw it and mentioned it.

But then I actually gave you the credit of your (copious) words on the subject and just assumed you to be misguided on this player. But I respected it as I have many of your writings/opinions. That is until I saw your absolute disregard for the whole of Dele's performances and your pattern of minimizing the things he does that hurt us as a team for those that elevate and support Dele the player. And then I was back to realizing it's always been the shiny objects and yours was an emotional appeal.

And yeah, no need for another 500 words of things that happen "off screen". I remember the Macedonian nutmeg and childish celebration. I will have my vindication when this shitty player is sold and is no longer hurting my team. 10 more caps. You remember that right? I won't forget it. Perhaps you need to come to grips with why you rate this player because it's looking like you were wrong. And for me it's not about being right. It really isn't. But what it is about is him no longer holding my team back for 89 minutes of every game.
Jose welcomes you amongst his flock, a new disciple nuzzling into the bosom of the cult, Shalom lakhem.

Jose's got nothing to do with it and no need to deflect. Poch should have done the same thing but years ago. Perhaps he didn't have options. But none of this is any excuse for anyone not seeing what this player is.

Since Jose arrived

With Alli starting

Played: 26
Won: 11
Drawn: 6
Lost: 9

Without Alli starting

Played: 21
Won: 12
Drawn: 6
Lost: 3

Stats like this are interesting, but I have no idea how the results are purely down to Dele not starting. We have changed formations, added players, and have some different tactics. I am not defending him, just not sure what these stats really represent.

For starters, a lot of those games with Dele would have been without Son & Kane and also pre-lockdown where Jose was still getting to grips with the squad in general.
