Tottenham’s Serge Aurier could return to PSG in a £10 million deal this summer after Mauricio Pochettino reportedly told the defender that he wants a reunion in Paris.

Aurier joined Spurs from the French champions in the summer of 2017 and worked under Poch in north London until the manager's sacking in November 2019.

According to FootMercato, the Argentinian boss wants to strengthen the right side of his defence for next season and told Aurier that he would like to sign him.

The outlet points out that the Ivory Coast international gave an interview last year to Canal + Afrique where he admitted: “If I can finish my career in Paris, it would be a pleasure”.

Sceptical that’s true. Poch never seemed to really rate him.

You don't have a fucking clue what is going on at our club you fucking idiot.
With the way this season has gone I don't feel like I have a fucking clue, either.

Ffs, we looked a cut above the rest of the league there for the first part of the season. All counterattacking flair and stalwart defense.

Now I have to take it day by day whether I can stomach watching the rest of our season.

OUT:
Lloris (5M)
Doherty (6M)
Dier (12M)
Foyth (10M)
Winks (13M)
Sissoko (3M)
Alli (23M)
Vinicius
------------
£72M

IN:
Areola (15M)
Torres (45M)
Skipp
Lundstram (Free)
Sessegnon
Toney (30M)
-------
£90M

Net Spend of £18M would give us these options:

1st XI:
Kane
Son Lucas Bale
Ndombele Hojbjerg
Reguilon Torres Toby Tanganga
Areola

2nd XI:
Sessegnon Toney Bergwijn
Lamela Skipp Lo Celso
Davies Rodon Sanchez Aurier
Hart

Afraid your suggestion doesn't meet the squad criteria.

Association trained: Cameron Carter-Vickers**, Ben Davies*, Matt Doherty, Joe Hart, Danny Rose**, Alfie Whiteman
Club trained: Gareth Bale, Dele, Harry Kane, Harry Winks

becomes

Association trained: Ben Davies*, Joe Hart, Alfie Whiteman, Toney?
Club trained: Gareth Bale, Harry Kane,

Must have minimum of 8 across both, with no more than 4 asso.trained.

So, If we assume CCV, Rose are gone and sell Winks, Dele, Doherty that leaves us short 1 association trained player and 2 club trained players. And this is all assuming BALE stays - which he won't if we don't have top 4.

So if we want to improve, we must buy 1 home grown player; and promote 3 club trained players that are better than ALLI, WINKS, BALE and DOHERTY.

(skipp, sess fall under the U21 category)

i.e. There is no way in blue hell that we can sell WINKS and DELE unless we have another club trained players we can promote.

Cheers for the info. Few questions?

1/ Is Lundstram not association trained?

2/ You say we need a minimum of 4 club trained players, and then list the 4 we have. Does that mean that before the Bale loan we only had 3? Were we not in breach then?

3/ Sessegnon will be 21 this May, so before next season. Would he still count as under 21?

Lundstram should indeed be association trained.

Last season Rose was listed in the squad. And he is classed as club trained because we bought him from Leeds early enough. But we were balancing on the line of breaching the requirements.

Sessegnon and Skipp will count properly towards the quota from the 2022-23 season as I understand it. When they have both turned/are going to turn 22. They can still be part of the first team, but are listed as youth.

1. Didn't realise Lundstram was English; I'd be surprised if we signed a 28 year old. Since we can only have 4 association trained players; we would need to drop Hart, Whiteman or Davies to accommodate. Its clear why Hart was brought in to replace Gazza - so we could get an extra squad place for a international player.

2. In previous season we had Walker Peters.

3. Yep. If the player is 21 before the end of December in the previous season they count as U21.

One of our reported main targets is 27 year old Marcel Sabitzer so Lundstram being 28 should not be an issue. Ben is also association trained for league purposes, same with Rodon. They only class as foreign when we play in Europe. Whiteman is club trained as well.

It's not that we can only have 4 association trained players. We need to have a minimum of 8 homegrown players of which at least 4 has to be trained at the club. There is no cut off for association trained. We could field an entire team of association trained players if we wanted to as long as we have 4 from the Spurs academy.
