Reguilon would not be easy to replace. He is easily a top 5, if not better, LB in the league.

We can't even get a competent RB but somehow we'll get one of the top LB's in the world now?
Reguilon is doing really poorly defensively though. Can't seem to close people down well.

Of course we should keep him, he has great attributes such as pace, and he had loads of assists for Sevilla. But I would contemplate selling Davies, and perhaps giving Sessegnon a serious shot at first choice LB. He is doing well for Hoffenheim who are now playing 4 at the back.

You're funny

You manage to see certain players faults, but your little favourites. El Burro can do no wrong.

He is not even close to top 5 LBs in the league, not even close.

If we replace Reguilon with Sess as first choice we deserve all the nightmares that will bring.

Reguilon has not been poor defensively but has become a whipping boy so fans seem to jump on everything he does, good or bad and cry about it.

As long as these owners are in charge I'm not expecting the massive out-goings required nor the necessary signings. Unless the new manager is a miracle worker then buckle in folks because it's going to be a bumpy ride for quite some time.

Another season of seeing Winks, Sissoko, Dele et al. :mourfacepalm:

They are not my little favourites they are our good players.

Unlike some I am not desperate to label everyone on our squad as complete shit.

I do think they'll attempt to let Lamela/Sissoko go. You get the sense that Levy will expect Dele to be a starting player under a new manager though. Winks somewhere in the middle. I expect Lucas has done enough to be kept on as well, another who should be sold in the summer. Just an absolute shitshow how they've managed this squad.

He has been poor defensively. Not saying replace Reg with Sess; just said contemplate giving him a shot at the number 1 spot.

I haven't watched much of him in Bundesliga but I know last season they played a lot of 5 at the back with him as a WB.

Has he actually been playing LB in a back 4 for them? There still seems to be a lot of questions about whether he can actually be a LB, let alone a quality LB in the PL.

Either way Reguilon is far from an issue we should look at replacing.

He is now starting as a LB for them in a back 4. One of those games was against RB Leipzig, where Hoff kept a clean sheet.

Looking at our squad I would be getting rid of:

Dele (30m)
Sanchez (20m)
Winks (20m)
Aurier (15m)
Lamela (15m)
Foyth (13m)
Sissoko (10m)
Doherty (8m)
Gazzaniga (5m)

I feel like those prices are pretty reasonable, that would net us a total of 136m.

In terms of ins, I think we need:
Right Back
Centre Back
Central Midfielder
Number 10

Those last two I would be targeting younger players, also we need a winger but IMO we should just loan Bale for another season. I would also hope the likes of Parrott, Skipp, Scarlett start to get pushed through in the UEL presuming we are in that, Sessegnon should return too. We need to be smart with our investments this summer and clear out the deadwood, hopefully while keeping Kane/Son.

I think your numbers are too high and added my opinion. No one wants our washed up players. Sissoko especially isn’t going to fetch anything.

Potentially but I still think English guys always going to fetch a bit of money, had Dele in at 25m initially but this is a guy who was worth 100m to Levy a couple seasons ago I wouldn't be shocked to see someone take a punt at that price. We managed to sell Vincent Janssen for 6m, Trippier coming off an absolute stinker of a season fetched 20m so there is precedent.

If Reguillon wants to be a left winger, just play him there. He’s almost the opposite of Sess, who spent his first season with us terrified to pass the half way line.

Possible it’s just a matter of opinion. Sissoko won’t get anything though. 32 this summer and wages will be higher than any club at his level can afford.

If we get Potter I hope that Macaulay follows and gets the role as chief scout. That way Hitchen can focus on other duties within his role.

Hitchen should be sacked. Zero imagination. Zero foresight. That he was caught on film flexing to the tea lady that he hates transfer windows should be a sackable offence right there.

Any chief scout should be excited about transfer windows as it is their big chance to grab a lower league sensation that will pad their resume. To actually hate the transfer window highlights the disconnect between the club, the team and the fans. The shit players don't have to try because they look at somebody as incompetent as Hitchen and know their cushy lifestyle isn't in danger.

To be fair, we really don't know whether he's good or bad at his job. Those comments about the January transfer window were fairly accurate, it's a terrible month to try and get business done. For all we know he's suggested several good deals that the club has decided not to act on. I'm fairly sure Bergwijn ends up a good player. Not sure there's any other player we own who was definitely a Hitchen target. Skriniar seems to have been, but Inter jacked up the price to a level we were unwilling to pay. Levy and his involvement in football decisions is the much greater issue imo.

Yeah I don't think we should be lynching Hitchen over the January window comment. The guy had a camera in his face and knew he needed to flog Eriksen somewhere with 6 months left and potentially bring someone in to inject some creativity into the team. Bergwijn is a funny one because I think it's clear José gave up with him and if there's any potential manager you'd think would give him a new lease of life, it'd be the Eredivisie-experienced Ten Hag.

January windows are infamously shit in terms of getting a team to sell mid-season and getting any decent value on a deal. United getting Bruno that window makes a lot of people forget that fact.

Wage and financial climate are influential in driving the price. Right now, it's the worst time to clean out the deadwood with nobody welcome high earners with huge gamble of return on performance.

The HG quota is more of the thing for clubs in Europe that need to utilize a full size squad for all fronts. Dele used to be attractive, but Winks type of players are not attractive to clubs playing in Europe for the obvious reason, especially now.
