Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I disagree, even if he has decided he'd like to move, it's not just as easy as him making his mind up and handing in his 4 weeks notice. I can't see any club putting up the money Levy would ask for and I can't see Levy taking a low fee out of the goodness of his own heart because poor Harry deserves medals.
If he really wants to win things, and doesnt belive in levy's lies and fraud, his performances will suffer . Its completely human to not be at your best when you arent happy.

The problems go far deeper, I know, but with all due respect to Harry - when was the last time he turned up in a final/semi final for us?
When has he been properly fit in one? Which will happen if you have no fucking competent understudy and play him in 95% of every game. Be brave sign Daka let him have proper competition and no more three games a week however much he moans.

I agree, but he's got to be getting close to leaving. Its like when Ray Borque left the Bruins after like 20 years and went to Colorado.
Meme Wtf GIF

As if 'winning' anything at Sheik Mansour FC counts as an achievement.
Doesn't really matter if it's City, United or Chelsea here, PSG, Barcelona or RM overseas

Teams with money win the most. Only the odd exception elsewhere.
Doesn't really matter how the money is obtained, it's what does the talking, it's what brings the assets required to win and it's what keeps them winning year after year.
Players won't think "I'd rather earn less money and win nothing than walk a league title"

Do people on here put Fifa on the hardest setting and get twatted every match rather than lower the difficulty until winning more often than not?

Most City players wouldn't accept the move.

Ake and G. Jesus might. If we could get both plus money that mightn't be the worst deal, Jesus might actually be more suited to a team that dominates possession a bit less than City do. Though you're better off getting paid for Kane and shopping elsewhere.

Zinchenko is a good player but LB is probably our most well stocked position, though he's a good midfielder also. Doubt Laporte would move.

United don't have anybody worth taking that would move to us imo, player swaps are a nightmare to negotiate I'd imagine and don't really happen much. Maybe Henderson + 100m.

They are, but I have a feeling we might see an increase during this window due to pandemic economics. I know the rich got a whole lot richer during this year+, but we seem to keep getting the same rhetoric that clubs are strapped for cash.

I agree United are not as stacked and honestly, I don't see why Kane would want to go there. I can really only see Kane going to Liverpool or City as both have better squads and are closer to the finished product. But if I was Kane, it would be City or nothing.

Jesus, who has taken an Iheanacho type path at City is a fun player, but sure does waste a good amount of chances. A change of scenery may do him good.

Torres doesn't see much game time and I know he just got there, but he surely is behind the likes of Mahrez, Silva, Sterling. But maybe with Sterling getting less game time, he is on the out and Torres will take his place next year. So Sterling?

Liverpool also don't have many players I would take and I can't see them letting go of their leader in Henderson, but I would take Curtis Jones off their hands and 100m. I like Jones and would provide us with some much needed midfield help.

People trying to convince themselves we will be ok without Harry and then saying they don't want Spurs to be another money team.

Every modern football club that wins things now has bought it, we either get on the fucking train or accept that we will forever be left behind, it really is that simple.

ENIC and Levy will forever leave us trailing the rest and we will watch as players like Harry (a person who SUPPORTS the club and loves Spurs) moves on because he realises it's never going to happen as our owners have NO AMBITION WHERE IT MATTERS!

This is truth that many don't want to admit, but a truth nonetheless.
People use Leicester as a counter argument , but (A) they are loaded,(B) it was probably a one off .In general, not necassarily for them personally.

Yup, the "fairytale" is a <1% chance now, a fluke.

You could also argue Leicester have spent a fortune and have been building the club since the new ownership to be competitive and it looks like it's starting to pay off for them.

The reality is that 99% of the time, the team that spends (wisely) the most money wins more.

Whether we like it or not, nearly all players will go where the money is!

I for one could care less about trophies. Never been a title chaser, and for me, glory is doing things the right way, expressing yourself genuinely, and having fun.

Society puts far too much emphasis on winning at all costs and that is why the game is the way it is now.

I would prefer if we gave the middle finger to this notion and just had a blast fucking with teams through attractive football.

If that's the case why bother watching sports though?

Like, I know what your saying, entertainment should come first ( as we witnessed with Jose) but would you be happy if we were in mid-table but playing attractive entertaining football and winning the occasional game in style but never being in the CL or having a chance of winning a trophy?

I am not asking if you would stick around and still support us, I know we would both be here regardless of where we were in the table.

I am asking, would you be happy?

Why can't we aspire for both entertaining football and trophies? Why should we allow the financial restrictions these fucking bloodsuckers ENIC put on the club and accept it because of this notion of doing things "the right way" it's bollocks imo and it's a spin from them to brainwash the supporters into thinking we should be grateful.

It's a competitive sport and we have the ability to be competitive but we aren't because our owners don't care about anything but money.

That to me is sucking the fun out of it.

Also, I would argue that the original foundation of league football (and what kept people coming back) was the romantic idea that no matter how far down the league your team was, one day you might stand a chance of winning it all.

That right there tells me that trophies mean a lot to people, hell the whole reason people kicked up a stink about the ESL (rightly so) was because it excluded that romantic notion.

Over the past 10 years, our player of the season awards;

Modric, Parker, Bale, Eriksen, Kane, Alderweireld, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Son, Son.
(Likely to be Kane this season, but still only once has he won player of the year for us)

As for our 'big cup games' we have actually won, man of the match awards I think are just dished out by commentators before the game ends? I'm not entirely sure but these are what I can find / remember.

League Cup:
Sissoko. Semi Final vs Brentford. Jan 21
Rose. Semi Final (1st leg as we lost over 2 on pens) vs Chelsea. Jan 19
Dele. Quarter Final vs Woolwich. Dec 18
Eriksen. Semi Final (2nd leg) vs Sheff Utd. Jan 15.

Champions League:
Lucas. Semi Final (2nd leg) vs Ajax. May 19
Son. Quarter Final (2nd leg) vs Man City. April 19

FA Cup:
Eriksen. Quarter Final vs Swansea. March 18
Son. Quarter Final vs Millwall. March 17

Of these 8 games for Kane;
Played: 6 (1 as sub)
Scored: 1 penalty
Assists: 2
MOTM: 0

I'm trying to dig out Kane as shit in big games or anything, but statistically he hasn't really lived up to his reputation in these knock out games is the point I'm making.

I think you can have both in all honestly, but you can't be serial challengers with a sustainable model. You may have a run as we did under Poch, where talent came through from within (Kane, Rose, Walker) and smart acquisitions like Dele took place. (I do know that Rose and Walker were not here since their first days, but they were part of our youth sides).

I look at the San Antonio Spurs as the model that clubs should run with. Statistically driven, club ethos that is systematically drilled into every aspect of the org, and superior coaching. They draft so well that they don't need to be the Nets and splash the cash on big names. But the NBA has changed so much, that they are most likely not going to challenge anytime soon until they can draft another stud like Duncan.

But the unthinkable is achievable if we do things the right way and say fuck off to oil money.

To answer your questions though. I watch Spurs because I loved seeing our attacking play over the years. Now I turn the TV on and passively glance. It's been a boring run.

Brighton is my entertainment now and they keep me sane. I watch football for the love of the game, not the private jets and Heineken commercials. Sure, the CL is one hell of a ride that I know can be a regular thing with a model like RBL, but it takes cajones to set that up, and people are just far too impatient. Such is the world we live in, where we would rather grow steaks in labs, than reduce our meat intake.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that ENIC has been shit. But do people really want to be another Man City? Sure, they play unbelievable football, but their titles and achievements for me carry huge asterisks next to their name.
