Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Because he cannot afford himself to lose Harry Kane. I mean, he can, but it's a fucking disaster in the eyes of football world and Spurs fans. He won't let it happen, I'm sure he has some pride in him.
I get what your saying, but i really dont think he will change.
When we had VDV,Modric etc we were 2 players away from being a serious outfit,he flunked it.
4 years back, after the head to head with Leicester, he should of acted big,he didnt.
He isn't changing mate.
I actually feel sorry for who ever comes in,because they will be promised the world and bought a school kids globe.

but would you be happy if we were in mid-table but playing attractive entertaining football and winning the occasional game in style but never being in the CL or having a chance of winning a trophy?

Some of my most enjoyable years as a Spurs fan were under Martin Jol, outside the Champions League, putting pressure on the Europa League spots.

I'm 9 years older than my youngest brother - who was forced in to being Spurs.
But we had a right good time... Even on his 10th birthday, my present to him (to my mums horror as she was planning a party) was 2 tickets to WHL to watch the North London Derby. 13th November 2004. We lost 5-4 (Naybet, Defoe, King, Kanoute), but we had a great time.
Really exciting game to be at, and although we lost against Woolwich - we had a great day out.
The thought of winning major competitions wasn't even on our radar.

Different strokes for different folks.

Don't blame him.

People talk about his no-shows in finals - he was injured before both of them.

Will be very sad to see him go.

A side effect of signing and playing dumb pricks Sissoko, Winks and Aurier.
Seeing Hoddle go was sad, seeing Gazza go sad. Seeing all of these guys go is sad. But he's not obligated to go to where the money is. A big move is increasing his chances of a trophy, it does not guarantee a trophy. And he might want to look at where moving for trophies has failed as much as looking at where moving has resulted in success.

anyway, he wants to go. Just go. Club was bigger before you than it’s ever been with you.

Didn't see interview, just read article in The Guardian.

If they wanted to be positive 😄, they could have taken his last quote from here

and gone with the headline

'Kane says he and the players have to 'take responsibility for disappointing season and go away and improve over summer.'

If he really wants to win things, and doesnt belive in levy's lies and fraud, his performances will suffer . Its completely human to not be at your best when you arent happy.
Everyone thought he was unhappy last Summer with no CL, yet he's just had arguably his best season yet.

Besides which, I wouldn't back our scouts to find a striker 50% as good as Kane, fuck, I wouldn't even back Hitchen to find his arsehole with both hands...

Of course BBC & Sky will ignore that, they won't be happy until every player with any skill in the world is playing for City, Utd, Liverpool & Chelsea.

He’s all but guaranteed a league winners medal if he goes to Citeh. That’s the model all over Europe now really. The big leagues are all close to a monopoly or a duopoly at best.

"When I look back at the end of my career, I will go over it and take in a little bit more. The goal right now as a player is to win team trophies. As much as this [award] is great, I want to be winning the biggest prizes that there is to offer as a team and we are not quite doing that.

he’s gone this summer

He's off. Can't blame the man.

I wonder who this year's Frazer Campbell booby prize will be?

That's the real question

The only way Harry stays is if England win the Euros , if not he is gone and I don’t think anyone could blame him really! He has given some of his best years to us , and if he wants to try something new then I wouldn’t hold it against him!

Kane is making his feelings known but he will still be with us next season
Which could be great in another way too.

Levy would be lynched if he stood back and let Kane go for a miserly sum and didn't put up a fight. If Kane made a demand of Levy that he was happy to stay but only if he saw the team being strengthened for the chance to win something big, Levy might, under huge duress, be forced into doing so.

If Harry doesn't sign a new contract this season, Levy can realistically only hold onto Kane for another year.

Kane is a great player but Spurs is bigger than any one player!
Edit great is a bit underwhelming , he is world class on his day, we all thought the world would end when Bale left and it didn’t
