City and united both have the cash needed , poch has the cash if he can tempt them to France , without champions league next season Levy will need to cash in ,
If anyone offers anywhere close to 100 million for Kane or £75 million for Son they will be gone

If Kane goes to United it really will show that he doesn't care about winning. They don't look close to winning the PL or CL. I guess they could win the EL this year and maybe that is what Kane dreams of, but moving to United would be a really terrible and dumb move on Kane's part.

It has a ton of downside with very little upside.

I don’t think he does to united , I was just saying they could easily afford him .

Ok that makes sense.

I do think we will be saved by teams not having the money/space for Kane and to a lesser extent Son. Maybe I am being a homer but I just don't see the fit at other clubs for either at the moment.

Although a lot could change with other moves obviously.

The case for Gerrard grows stronger - he wouldn't tolerate the utter shite that was served up today.

He's got Rangers playing better than the sum of their parts.

He wouldn't tolerate it?

Based on what? His two years of mediocre management?

Rangers lost to Slavia Prague in the Europa League they are playing better than the sum of their parts.

If you put Gerrard in charge of us there is no reason to think he wouldn't slip up.

There’s noises about Man U going back in for sancho now Cavani wants to stay another year. I don’t think they’ll go for Kane. While Man City will wait for haaland.

You say that, but now city don’t have to worry about FFP they would happily buy Kane and Haaland, why they are at it they may even buy Sancho back as well. Money is not an object for city , that’s what happens when you are funded by an oil state! I would hope Kane doesn’t go there any way as it’s a plastic club , Walker might have a load of trophies but they mean fuck all, and deep down he knows that as well!

City never did worry about FFP. They just ignored it and did what ever they wanted, stating as much in an email. And what happened? A two year UEFA ban, followed by an appeal, followed by 3 points on their licence or something.

We really need to get this right. Watching Leeds and Brighton with average players looking so well coached front to back and us under Jose and a 29 year old Mason looking so basic in positioning and movement just brings it home

Yes we need to sell deadwood, yes we need to bring in a few players at least 3-4. But all of it will be for shit if we cannot get a decent coach who is able to coach modern attacking and defensive football.

They are still under investigation by the premier league and have that hanging over them. I mean they’ll probably get away with it but it will cost them a few barrels of oil.

I know that people don't see him as a rebuild manager, but if we somehow can land Conte we need to try.

He's got the right mix of "I am your boss, do as I say" and "team dad" that we probably need in the locker room. And he was after all the man who was put in charge of rebuilding Juventus back in the day.

My concern with Conte is that it is another move to paper over cracks and kick the rebuild further down the road making it a much longer rebuild than necessary.

He obviously is a talented manager that can get results, but we don't have close to the kind of team that he has had success with and likely unwilling/unable to bring in what is needed.

If we bring in Conte it may persuade Harry to stay for another season.

I’ve given up worrying about who it will be. Whoever it is will have a massive job ahead and will probably fail miserably without massive investment, which would probably mean a new owner, which I can’t see happening.

I’m just going to wait until some poor sod gets the job and get behind him. For a while...

Yeah, at the end of the day the identity of the next manager just really isn't that pertinent to the direction of the club.

It's about what the squad looks like in ~18 months time. The idea of us competing for top four could be a permanently distant memory by then if there isn't remarkable and lavishly financed management of the squad between now and then. The Poch Miracle is on the verge of going up in smoke with nothing to show for it.
