Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can't envisage a scenario where we come out of this stronger. Whether we do a swap deal for Harry and another star + cash, or we take the £130m and spend it on 3-4 players....I just can't see us being stronger next year.

Unless City feel like giving us KDB or Dias (lol), we're going to be on the losing end of this deal.

Either way it's bad news for us

If we force him to stay it will unavoidably have an impact on his performances and the general happiness of the squad

The best outcome is that we maximize the fee to city or are able to entice a team like PSG at a slightly lower fee so we can sell him abroad. But if he's dead set on staying in the PL, there's really not much we can do.

People are kidding themselves if they think Levy will just sit on Kane and refuse him his move. Bale got his move, Suarez got his move, van Persie got his move and Ronaldo got his move. If he wants to leave he'll be able to, and it's in no one's best interests for it to get dirty.

Well sorry but if you think Levy is going to be low balled into accepting a bid under £100m, you’ve really not been paying attention!

It won’t get dirty if City stump up the asking price. If they don’t, then they (and Harry) can get fucked.

I agree if the right bid comes in, we should accept it but that is north of £100m.

We will never be able to replace Kane but that kind of money could improve areas of the squad. Would suggest a change in system and bring in a different type of striker - plenty of decent gettable ones who are out and out goal scorers about.

Look at it another way - if we didn't take a deal this summer, how much is he worth in a year with only two years left on his contract?

Another year of service from him is certainly worth a significant amount (I don't believe he'd go off the boil like Eriksen) but how much would we quantify it as? Will he be the PL player of the season next year as he hopefully is this season?

I also believe a fresher start at the same time a new manager comes in would probably be better than having to do another overhaul next season. The fact is there will be a bedding in phase next year regardless so the upheaval might as well happen now.

I'm struggling to see even clubs like City and United stumping up the fee demanded (and I can't see Levy backing down when he doesn't need to). Obviously could be wrong, but I don't think Levy will allow his pants to be pulled down over the price, when there's 3 years left on the contract.
Agree that i don't see anyone paying the £150m but i doubt after this he'll sign a new contract so the economics of our club dictate that if we don't sell this summer we'll likely have to sell the summer after when he has 2 years left.

I find it hard to understand those complaining but not winning a trophy, supporting selling Kane and thus reducing our chances of winning a trophy next season. We have been here before when Bale and Berbatov left and it took a while to recover. Just look at the poor results when Kane us out injured. We did OK a few years ago with 1 injury but not recently. I do not know if people believe it is getting at Levy by selling Kane when the opposite is true as the money from the sale will help him and not hurt him.
Forcing a player that expressed his desire to leave is more often than not counter productive. So there is no escape for that pain of rebuild. It's the case of cashing out when we can profit lest it becomes Eriksen, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele... where we got peanuts, while everyone know we're desperate and rinsed us clean looking for their replacements.

But your every second post demands trophies - how are you not a glory hunter? The glory is in the way the game is played, as a 30+ year Spurs fan you should have that written on your heart ...

I'm a 60+ year fan who's seen players, managers, owners come and go - who followed the club home and away for years when we didn't have a prayer of wining a trophy ... went to Anfield and watched us fail to win many of those 43 games in a row, was also there for Crooks's finest moment.

During all those years the fans were always behind the club, glory hunting was no-more than an early season day dream, it was never demanded ... but I guess times change, now it's all about me, me, me and win, win, win ... and all that gets you is failure and misery (just look at most of your posts)

Sure we all want to win stuff - but that's just part of being a fan, and not a very big part.
Asking for one singular trophy in 13 years is not glory hunting.

Asking for our owners to behave like this is a football club and show some fucking ambition outside of growing their infrastructure is not glory hunting.

Sports IS about winning things, it's not everything as a fan but the dream of it is what keeps fans coming back, that's the magic of football, knowing that one day your team might win it all, why do you think so many were opposed to the ESL?

People can delude themselves into thinking it isn't about winning but I guarantee that if football removed all competitions and it was just a bunch of friendlies that mean nothing and no trophies were attached it would become the least popular sport in the world.

I am not asking or demanding for us to win trophies every season (although it would be nice, of course) the only thing I demand from these owners is that they show the intention and ambition to win them, show that they actually want success for this club outside of just making it a lucrative business venture.

You can be happy watching us finish 6th or 7th every season whilst we continue to become one of the richest clubs in the world and the supporters get ripped off left, right and centre and be satisfied.

I will continue to demand more from the owners for this great football club that I think deserves more than an afterthought when it comes to success on the pitch, where it fucking matters.

What is annoying me is it's starting to appear on here that if you're in the 'if Harry Kane leaves then he's dead to me' camp then you automatically must be pro-Levy/ENIC, and vice versa. Believe it or not the two are not mutually exclusive so to clarify my position is...

Yes, if Kane leaves, he's dead to me as far as football is concerned. I will not 'wish him well'. My focus is solely on Tottenham Hotspur FC. That doesn't mean I support Levy/ENIC either. I am also very much in the 'ENIC/LEVY OUT' brigade, because again, Tottenham is my sole focus, and I think we'd be much better off with them gone.

Them's my two cents!

That's true and is also how I feel. I do think some on here are using it as an agenda to deflect from the owners though.

You know, the usual suspects lol.

Whatever .... if you think DEMANDING success is what being a fan is all about, I pity you.

LOL, your deflection tactics don't work with me Blanchflower Blanchflower I have found many positives under ENIC and have said them many times.

Wanting more for my football club and not wanting it to be under the control of a bunch of greedy pigs that couldn't care less about football or the supporters doesn't mean supporting Spurs makes me unhappy, it just means I think the club deserves better than the snake oil salesmen in charge.

People are fed up of being told by the disingenuous ENIC bots to "stop complaining" and "be careful what you wish for."

You said you were going to pissed off if Kane goes and also pissed off if he stays

Not really any need for deflection

LOL. Jesus wept.

Do you read what I write?

"I am not asking or demanding for us to win trophies every season (although it would be nice, of course) the only thing I demand from these owners is that they show the intention and ambition to win them, show that they actually want success for this club outside of just making it a lucrative business venture."

The only thing I am demanding is that our OWNERS, show some fucking AMBITION on the PITCH.

To show that they WANT to see us be successful, to show the supporters they CARE about the FOOTBALL at this FOOTBALL CLUB.

How is that not being a real fan? LOL, come on now, you have to try harder than that.

This is not gonna bolster my bona fides for the position but I am not up on Daka. Don't have the space to watch RBS and I was even more motivated seeing as they had a 'Murican at the helm. Similar happened with Haaland.

But my recommendation would be to lose the expectation of recruiting a CF to score 20 goals of his own making. REbuild the squad, recruit a progressive manager that understands there are 3 phases (+sp) to the games and all are equally important, and devise an attack that creates chances from everywhere/one. None of that there needs Harry Kane.

We are going nowhere next season with or without HK so we might as well plan for and accept the long haul.
Meh, I want three rapier like athletes up top! All capable of 20+

Oh Come On The Office GIF

100m buys Leipzig squad in a bloated market, plus English youth has been more dominant than German in recent years, so I don’t buy the ‘going knowhere’ bad thoughts make bad outcomes, this is our Phoenix moment Toddster!

Think I’d be happy if we roll 50%+ of Kane’s fee into English U21s given their youth dominance in some year groups, we should pick up 3-4 of the most talented youngsters outside the Top8 or so clubs. The former model will work, Jude Bellingham’s younger bro’ is/was reportedly the better of the two, so grab this type, with £10m+ fees to dangle around this summer, we’ll be tough to resist.

It's not just about Kane today .... Kane will be offered 300k a week by City/Chelsea/Utd on a four year contract that's 60m .... if he stays then no doubt we will have to match that or see him leave for very little in 12/24 months ...

In four years time we will have spent 60m and have a 32/33 year old player worth nothing - so assuming he's worth 150m now, that's 210m we will need to write off to get 4 more years from Kane.

Is that 210m well spent on one of the world's top strikers? or could we get 4/5 decent 23/24 year old players who will probably be worth >210m in four years time?

If money is no object then you can do both - but only City and Chelsea can think like that - so what would you do?
