If our new manager needs to see guys like Sissoko, Aurier, Winks, Dier, Sanchez, Lamela in person to judge whether they should stay or not I hope we don't hire the dumb prick.

If he needs time in here to figure out whether we have holes at CB, RB, RW, Striker then again he is too fucking stupid to come here for me.

Using Conte vs. Poch if we are using Conte's 3 at the back system versus Poch and a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 that will have major impact on what we need. Getting one of them in early makes a ton of sense so we can start identifying players that fit the style the manager wants to play.

What if the manager coming in wants Daka? Well that could be done already before we even hire someone. Maybe Potter comes in and wants White, but United buys him next week, kind of sucks that we waited for no reason to bring in our new manager.

There is a reason why everyone else has hired there manager, why nobody else has gone this long without a manager before. It is ridiculous to claim that there is no rush to bringing in a manager and that this has been handled fine.

The idea of the manager as the absolute final word on his squad is an antiquated notion in 2021.

City or Liverpool would both place a lot of trust in Pep or Klopp's opinion on a transfer and would obviously be loathe to piss off their golden goose managers, but at the end of the day those are well-run clubs because they think beyond one manager as the be-all, end-all of the club.

Back in the early 1960's Andy Warhol famously said that in the future everyone would be Spurs Manager for 15 minutes. He never saw that in fact nobody would be, did he?

City is a terrible example - they hired their DoF and technical director purely to get Guardiola to join

They set everything up specifically for the manager

I also think Conte might/would make a better player out of Docherty, get Ali back on form, replace Ndomeble for a player of similar value but one that is more consistent at being good.

That's the thing they've got footballing decisions made by people who have an understanding of the game Mike Edwards and the ex Barcelona dudes, Txiki and Ferran Sorriano.

We've got Levy and Hitchen who pale in comparison.

Which ones do you believe we're asked for by gaffers. Ndombele wasn't Poch's choice. Lo Celso was a compromise because we could get him on loan with option to buy at a discounted price. Doherty was a compromise because Aurier was crap and Levy said you have a small budget. Seas was a compromise because we needed a left back and he was young enough to be profitable. Clarke was similar to Seas. Bergwjin, Bale, Rodon and Vini are all Levy and his troops choices. Granted Hart and Fernandes were Jose stuff ups. But majority of the players are bought to fill a gap.

Its the reason, I believe, we will not easily see Conti running our team. He believes he should be allowed what he needs to do his job. Same applies for Zidane, Ancelloti, Pep..... Etc. We will never have serial Trophy winners succeed because we have a chairman who wants to choose the manager, decide who his players must be, decide which players get to play, decide if they can or not be sold, I won't be surprised if he decides what underwater they must wear.
I'm not saying you are wrong, or well I am, at least I think you are wrong. What I said in my last post is that you can not know this, it's a guess not fact

I believe that Ndombele and Lo Celso were Pochettino signings. I also beleive that Sessegnon was sanctioned by Poch. Mourinhos agent and friend Mendes administered the loan of Vinny Vincent and Gedson and the purchase of Doherty, guaranteed okd by Mourinho. Højbjerg was definitely a Mourinho purchase, probably Hart too. I'm not that certain about Clark, Bergwijn and Reguillon. But I think Bale was mostly Levy.

If I had stated what I think as a truth we would have had two truths. And that's not possible.

I don't see how he fits with the spiel about a manager in keeping with our traditions etc. All that points to Poch or a relatively inexperienced manager with a reputation for good football e.g. Potter.

Conte seems the exact opposite of what they were looking for in that statement. A proven winner but much more like Jose than any other candidate out there.

I guess it all depends if people think our players need rockets up their asses or cuddles. Cuddles = play a bit better please - Rockets = buck up or fk off, even if we lose money on your sale.

Fit right in with us then. Unless we sign a few good defenders there's no point even trying to polish a turd like Mourinho did. Right now we've sunk so low I'll take us just attacking and playing with the freedom we used to. Anything on top of that will just be a bonus.
Nah, I'm not really one for the sob story that everything is shit. With a decent coach, we could've been in the fight for the top 4 this year. With a few changes to the squad and that decent coach, we would be right back in the top 4. The Spurs fanbase is a bit overly emotional right now, and that's leading to a lot of imposed narrative getting ahead of the facts.

Begiristain was hired there in 2012. He hired Manuel Pellegrini and won a title before landing Pep.

The whole thing was built in the image of Pep's Barca of course, and he was always a target as the manager, but there is a bigger structure in place than just Pep, that will last whenever he goes.

Contrast with the Juventus guy that has been rumored with Conte. The two of them would arrive at Spurs together and beyond any doubt whatsoever would leave Spurs together, unless of course the Juventus guy left even earlier. Calling someone like that a "Director of Football" is a misnomer.

Why would the Juve guy leave with Conte. They don't follow each other everywhere. If he does a good job here and is happy and Levy happy with him then he will stay even if Conte leaves
