Ancelotti had 3 years left on his deal and it wasn't an issue.

Not saying Poch is coming, but acting like a 2 year contract is what's stopping it is ludicrous.

Everton will have been happy to take a couple million and quietly set about searching for the new guy, because they have no taste for a public fight with Ancelotti, a guy who lent them credibility.

On any of the 365 days of any year PSG can hire a big name manager, and they now have Daniel Levy, the notorious and loathed asshole known to the entire football world as the self-appointed genius of negotiation completely over a barrel.

There's a limit to how much of a mess PSG will be willing to make of this, but it's asymmetrical warfare. PSG can humiliate Levy, send him back with his tail between his legs then sack Poch minutes after we announce our next manager.

No club is going to keep a manager who wants to leave. It makes no damn sense.
