What we need is depth as far as strikers goes. If we had the following depth at the front, we would certainly be a feared force at home and away.

1.) Ings - 22Mn est
2.) Costa - Free Agent
3.) Son - Already Here
4.) Dele Alli - Deploy his as an advanced forward (The same way Woolwich changed Henry)
5) Kion Etete - Promote from youth.
6.) Dane Scarlett - Promote from youths.

Also worth considering:
Daniel Sturridge.
Ishan Pandita.

Despite all the goals Toney scored last season, apparently they were all scored inside the penalty area. He’s more like Gary Lineker than a potential Kane replacement.

Looking at young to mid 20s strikers whom performed well last season, any of the following would help lessen the blow of losing Kane:

- Andre Silva
- Vlahlovic
- Isak
- En Nesyri

God forbid we sign Gary Lineker

Kane both creates and scores goals from both in and outside the box, he’s an all-round player. Toney is a 6 yard tap-in merchant, not what we need.
If what we need to replace Kane is another Kane we're fucked.

To me, if you can replace the danger he creates in the box with a number 9, you can build the rest of the team to provide some of those other attributes.

If we can find the next Gary Lineker we're in really good shape.

WTF?

We need to understand the style of football we want to play before determining a replacement.

Picking arbitrary names without knowing if they’ll fit the team dna is silly.

So this is what the highest ticket prices in Europe gets you?

:mourfacepalm:

Calvert-Lewin is great if you knock balls into the box all game. But if you don't play that way he's pretty average - His link up play leaves a lot to be desired, especially compared to Harry.

I'd honestly prefer Chris Wood, who would be much cheaper, as one of a couple of strikers brought into the club. Wood is 29 though and wouldn't be a long term option. But I think that's the kind of level we'll be looking at. Calvert-Lewin is a lot younger and could go on to be better than Wood, but right now I'd say the latter is a better striker in terms of his overall game.

Danny Welbeck. Daniel Sturridge or Theo Walcott. We need a bit of a prospect. And anyone of them on loan will not be close to the insult of seeing Frazier Campbell trotted out as compensation for Keane and Berbatov.

If we do sell Kane I would rather make Son our centre-forward and spend the Kane money on our attacking midfield. Sonny can replace Kane's goals but there is nobody in our team who can replace his creativity and slick play in the number 10 position.
