Things I like about Nuno
-Premier League experience
-acknowledged as a decent coach. His teams play with a clear method/style - a sign he can get his message across.
-not a complete tosser

Things that worry me
-Defensive style
-Mendes links
-Lack of charisma
-not sure he's a great promoter/developer of youth players eg gibbs-white

Having said that, always felt that what's more important this summer is our transfer business.
Jorge Mendes B to C list

Comes in then fine but how is Santo any better than Potter or Howe?

And I absolutely accept he might be okay or even better than expected but under what metric are we working under is the question?

I am doing no such thing, it's a clear and obvious pattern with specific posters and it has nothing to do with confirmation bias.

To point out that some of the people defending the possible appointment are also the ones who can be seen in other threads defending the chairman and never saying a bad word about him has nothing to do with confirmation bias, this is a patten of behaviour from certain specific posters that is obvious and apparent, to suggest otherwise is dishonest imo.

The POINT is that rather than writing these essays (how many hundred words fired into the ether now in our exchange?) you could just address the posts that you believe to commit this 'crime' directly....

......Or even channel that energy more progressively into a proper anti-ENIC campaign.

I have directed my feelings towards the chairman, I am also going to direct my feelings towards people who defend his lies and greedy behaviour and people who try to spin a positive for shambolic appointments just because they don't wish to speak poorly of him, I feel like those fans are as guilty as he is for the decline of our club on the pitch, they are defending the indefensible.

You're not doing the latter though; you're just firing vague generalised shots at no-one in particular. Your shots AREN'T directed.

I never said you wasn't disappointed with him but the reality is, your disappointment should be with the chairman for even considering this appointment.

There is no "but"; you're projecting what you THINK I feel even though I haven't spoken upon the matter.... Which is essentially what this exchange has evolved into you denying.

I am not totally against his appointment but that could be because I’m so warn down with it all. When he left the job at Wolves I 100% didn’t want him so maybe it is just the fact I’m in a different place now. Fuck knows what will happen. Expectations are low.

The best manager/coach in the world could not do any better than what's been done with this squad so is this fella the right guy to be trusted with a successful rebuild?

It won't be a rebuild it will be a bunch of lightweight Mendes makeweights brought in to tide us over for a year or 2. Exactly like Vinicius or Gedson.

There is no long-term plan behind this appointment, if there was the guy wouldn't have been about 73rd on the list of potential managers.

The worst thing about this is once he's inevitably sacked, we'll be repeating the whole nonsense search process again complete with the Poch will return/won't return saga.
I'm kind of hoping ENIC will be gone by then. Now the genie is out the bottle, there's no way they're gonna do what it takes to get it back in.
One good thing to come out of this appointment, if it happens, is that it will hopefully hasten their departure.
They may decide to sell while they can still make a huge, unprecedented profit rather than risk their assets depreciating on the back of serious fan unrest.

They won’t sell, it’s cash cow. If the football declines they will just concentrate more on the shows and the NFL to make money.

If a buyer comes in at £2bn they will want £4bn. We are stuck with the cunts.
