come round to it now to be fair, needed to vent because its more on levy and enic and its not nunos fault he joined, all i hope is he gets the players he needs and ha adapts his style to attacking because i will not stand for boring football again
Thats my thoughts. Not going to give him a hard time for being offered and accepting a job offer.
He has zero expectation from our fan base,so you never know. That may play to his/ours favour.

Just trying to be optimistic here :)

Watched his interview - post the dna bit the media team likely asked him to say, he came across well. I hope he can bring the team together as he seems like a good bloke. Not watched enough of his Wolves team to know the style but they were never a push over when we played them.

Good article. What's the bit about Gattuso's historical remarks making him unsuitable? I must have missed that. "the content of previous interviews (became) quickly unearthed, which rendered the Italian impossible for Tottenham to employ."

He's said some less than stellar things regarding women in football, LGBTQ issues and I think there was some casual racism involved as well. Stuff that definitely doesn't vibe with Tottenham's profile as a progressive club with progressive values.

It is worth noting that all the quotes lifted were from 2013 or earlier. And he has publicly backed off on most if not all of them since and seems to have grown as a person. But once it got unearthed the campaign against him was unstoppable.

Get a guy that’s kept Wolves competitive and relevant

Roll your eyes all you want. Won the Championship, got promoted, then 7th, 7th and 13th. That with a whole helluva lot less than we’ve had to work with and we limp in at the end of each season with dick all.
Firstly to win the championship you need to be in it, so that's great and all, but if that is our new managers biggest achievement im a little bit worried already.
Maybe i'm just being a snob but i thought we were meant to be acting like a big club once the stadium was finished, appointing a manager whose biggest achievement in the Premier league is finishing 7th is a bit underwhelming for me! Don't get me wrong i really hope he is a success but he is hardly an attacking coach, he is more of the Jose mould and doesnt fit our "DNA" of an attacking manager?
Again i really hope it turns out great for him, but he also had talks with Palace and Everton and they both rejected him, is this to do with the Mednez connection?
To be linked with Conte and end up with Nuno is peak spurs, and there is only one person to blame and that's Levy! If you are happy with him then fair play, but im sure im not the only one who expects as a minimum entertaining football for my grand a season ticket!

"I'm getting quite frustrated with Nuno's team selections. We've all been asking for him to give some of the younger lads a go, but then he shunts them in out of position."

"Another game ticked off towards the end of this stain of a season. Unfortunately it was another woeful display so nothing to enjoy really."

"I'd rather that, than have us learn nothing by playing 7-2-1. It was a 'men against boys' line up, and the result and the performance matched it - but he will (or should) have learned more about the players and the system, so no complaints on that."

"Turgid, boring, dull, pragmatic."

"Awful game of football between two poor teams. Consolation is we won and there's only six more games to go."

"Dull game - we won, but that's the only bright point."

"Got what we deserved there. Fucking rubbish."

"I'd rather watch us clumsily attempt to attack and create and lose than bore the arse off us and still lose"

"I think Nuno got that one wrong, Vitinha and MGW out of position. I'd have preferred Neves, Mout and OO/MGW in a 3 with WJ and Silva up front."

"2 words: fucking shit."

"Nuno threw us out the Cup tonight when we had nothing else to play for - no excuse for that."

"copy/paste from any of the last 15 threads, not sure the point in taking out the time to rehash again"

"If this is some sort of elaborate masterplan then Spurs wouldn't have spent the last 2 months embarrassing themselves. No doubt it's all ended well for Mendes though."
And i saved the best untill last!

"I'm genuinely not posting this for bites just expressing my opinion. I don't think Nuno is going to be a success at Tottenham, his football is simply too pragmatic. Levy has done him no favours in managing the fans expectations talking about getting back the attacking DNA in his statement on his apptointment.

I really believe that if Nuno had a name like Andrew Smith and was a dour Englishman, there's no way he'd be anywhere near the Tottenham job. He really is, IMHO, a Portuguese Sam Allardyce. But Nuno Espirito Santo sounds alot more exotic.

As for how he fares at Tottenham, to be honest I hope they are absolutely shit under him and it all ends in tears. Breaking up with the love of your (football) life and six weeks later they are happily with someone else and it's all great, fuck that I want them to suffer!"

Besides my not knowing what the fuck they are rambling about (certainly can't be Poch as many never stopped pining for him to this day); that's bitter as fuck.

For me its not Nuno that worries me, he had wolves playing some decent football in the first season in the PL and has kept them up , its the fact its not just Nuno we are getting, we are now a mendez club! Not sure how that will work out

Edit - plus after being linked with Conte Nuno just seems like a last minute panic as he was on a free and available

You’re right. We should’ve went with any of the other legends knocking down the door to get the job. <insert crickets chirping here>

Levy’s a turd, I agree. But you expected some great hire from him when you admit from the outset he’s shit? Who’s dreaming here, me, someone willing to give Nuno a chance or you?

He can’t be any bigger of a letdown than the great “especial one” and in today’s turnstile managerial environment, if he is, he’ll be out and we’ll be searching again with few stellar options offering to take the job.

Conte would have come if he knew Levy was serious about making us competitive.

I guess it all depends on whether has agreed with Levy to try and get a tune out of the likes of Winks, sissoko, Dier and Sanchez.
