Stating the obvious: we are hoping for different outcomes in this transfer saga and our perspectives from our differing vantage points will cause us to see this series of events (and non-events) in very contrasting ways.

But I have my own theory of how this has played out (and still is) and wonder if you might grant that it is at least possible or even plausible at this point?

So in March, MCFC announce that their time with Aguero will be coming to an end when his contract wound down this summer. Many people had presumed that this would be the case, but it seemed a bizarre and risky thing to go trumpeting to the football world.
Then word gets out through Aguero, the Chairman and others that City would be replacing him in the summer. Surely a club as ruthlessly efficient in business and transfers wouldn't telegraph a weakness like that to clubs that they'd be seeking to purchase from?
Also, this would be the sort of very large value transfer that would have a lot of moving parts and loose ends to sew up. Doesn't seem the sort of thing to just get thrown together late in the window before the deadline.
Then amongst all of the speculation and chatter, City and Kane never squash the rumors.
Then City loan out Delap and sell Nmecha.
Think whatever you will of City, but they aren't complete fools who'd do that without thinking that they have a deal made.

I think that the deal was made. Pre-Aguero announcement. They knew that they had a player who'd be receptive. City always approach the player first. They knew what the number was going to be to purchase him too and they were okay with it. Kane knew too and the extended-holidays were always part of the plan as soon as the schedule was released. THFC won't be fining him. His sitting out was always going to happen and it allows all parties to not have an acrimonious day on the 15th.

Perhaps I'm wrong and your owner issues a flat rejection statement. Perhaps Kane apologizes, comes grovelling back kissing the badge all the way.

We'll know for sure soon.
Shut the fuck up

Whilst I agree Kane is finished at Spurs - why are you completely absolving Levycunt from any blame in this?

They agreed last summer Kane would be sold this window (like we did with Modric) and now has predictably lied and gone back on this word. Sell the cunt, cash in and let's rebuild.

I have no doubt Levy told him we would consider offers, but this fiasco is City’s fault. They need to make a serious bid.

They offered £100m before the Euros and nothing since. When they make a credible bid he will be gone, nobody should want him to play for Tottenham again after the way he’s behaved. He doesn’t give a shit about the club.

Kane can leave but it must be a decent offer, £100m or £130m is not a decent offer, if Grealish is £100m and Lukaku is £120m then a player who is certainly better, the top scorer and assist king in the league and an out and out world class player with a full 3 year deal left.

The club are rumoured to want either £200m for another prem club or about £150m abroad. Most fans would probably accept a compromise offer from City of around £160m or a deal including some of your bench players that roughly reaches that. It’s upto City to put a proper offer on the table.

Yep. What's the fakkin point anymore?

It's obscene.

I've been getting more and more annoyed with the way football's been going for the past 5-10 years. This past 18 months has shown me I can live without going to football and I was deliberating (first time in nearly 20 years I've not auto renewed day 1) if I'd renew my season ticket this year.

If this transfer goes through, added to Grealish going there and a year of Thursday-Sunday games they probably won't getting my money next year.

I mean this shit with Kane has annoyed me but I'm not losing sleep over it, it's become expected and I hate that fact. I've been (half jokingly) saying "the game's gone" for a while, well I feel it's finally jumped the shark for me now.

Agreed - Grealish has effectively had one good season (not even great)

Kane must be worth 150m at least

I could see us selling for £140m. Lukaku will likely be £100m. Grealish the same cost, doesn't give you Kane's goals but you're getting an extra 2 years of prime.

I hope we get the ball rolling on this sale, and our replacements in the next few days, or we could end up settling for some very underwhelming players in the closing days of the window.

Apparently premier League clubs have a secret agreement never to take on a player who leaves via Webster as it would mean player just leaving cheap. For example City and Chelsea bench players who didn’t get game time could all start looking to move so it would hurt every club.

The other problem is that the compensation is unpredictable so City might pay £50m for him if the court agrees or £250m depending on the case, I read there is another ruling that further complicates Webster. If it’s the later and City blow FFP again they could be in big trouble.

All in all it would be a huge mess for Kane, Spurs and City. It would be a legal nightmare for everyone.
It would suit City right down to the ground. They never once pleaded they weren't guilty for their actions breaking FFP regulations with their legal battle with FIFA, their argument was the evidence that showed their guilt was stolen. They argued this for so long that having been found guilty and then challenging that guilty plea and took it to the court of arbitration for Sport that they were able to "win" on the grounds that the deadline had passed to service the sentence!!!!

They are TWO years into the same legal battle this time with the PL. In these two years, all that's been achieved is who can and can't be present in court! They are currently paying £200k per pay to TWENTY or so lawyers dealing with this case!

I don’t think City are too fussed on getting a 24 month subscription to Amazon

Serious question for you.

When you watch City winning all these trophies do you feel like its earned?

I mean back when I used to play Football manager with me mates at school I knew a few of them that liked to play with the cheats on with unlimited funds.

I just wonder if it sours it for you to know that the only reason you aren't bouncing between the Championship and the Premier league every season like a yoyo is because of that sweet sweet blood money.

To be frank with you, as you "come in peace". I'm happy for City to pick up every trophy going for the next 50 years if it keeps them away from clubs like Liverpool. Utd and Chelsea. Real clubs that we have reason to hate. Not plastic tin pots.

I look at City with all the feeling and respect I'd look at Leyton Orient if they got a oil baron and went on to dominate English football for the next 20 years.

Or o0enly withdraw any interest. At which point Kane is completely fcuked unless PSG come in for him.

Very interesting that neither Madrid, Barcelona or Munch are in the slightest bit interested.

Pretty sure the Spanish clubs are financially screwed, the league got investment recently but only a very small part can be used for transfers.

Munich have Lewondoski, it’s City, United or PSG that are his only potential options.

God the more I stew on this the more its frustrating me. Harry Kane actually went out the end of the season and did a whole long interview with Neville basically saying he wanted to leave. I read that more as a bit of pressure to Levy to spend rather than him actually wanting to leave. Now he's gone on strike without even speaking to the new manager.

Kane is absolutely done as a spurs player. I don't care if he comes on screen and apologises I don't want him near the squad again. Completely selfish man who thinks he's better than his colleagues and any fan that cheers him this year if he ends up making a comeback has absolutely zero respect for themselves.

Can I remind everyone out first game is against City. Kane won't be starting that match because he's not even been back for pre season yet so it's very clear he's been told to do this and avoid playing again before the move happens.

At this stage I honestly think the best Tottenham could do is the following:

1. Sell for £120-£130 million. No other terms

2. Sell for £100 mil and see if Jesus will sign from City as a swap on strikers.

The sweet sweet justice if we swapped strikers and Jesus went on to have a better season than Kane.

I'll be cheering on every fucking team outside of City next year because between Pep crying into the cameras about his irreplaceable striker Aguero to Kanes antics forcing a move away and City just splashing whatever they want on players they're so so wrong for football you just accept it most of the time.

Fuck Harry Kane and we cannot let up if the move fails And Kane ends up back with us playing. Do not let up on the prick he thinks he's better than the players, fans and club as a whole, he's just a disingenuous prick and City will very soon realise that for all the greatness of Kane, its usually Son that scores the big goals when we need them.
Best post ever, wholeheartedly agree with you, we the fans deserve more than this from Kane,he obviously has no respect for us.

No he ain't.

I am not even sure what that means.

Aren't all the best players in the world theoretically too good for their teams?

It really is a flawed comment mate.
Disagree. I think Kane is a CL player & should be winning medals. He should be at a better team who do that. We are praying we might scrape 4th. He shouldn’t be playing in the europa conference. Don’t you think he is at a higher level than europa conference?
