Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

MCFC Supporter here in peace.

Stating the obvious: we are hoping for different outcomes in this transfer saga and our perspectives from our differing vantage points will cause us to see this series of events (and non-events) in very contrasting ways.

But I have my own theory of how this has played out (and still is) and wonder if you might grant that it is at least possible or even plausible at this point?

So in March, MCFC announce that their time with Aguero will be coming to an end when his contract wound down this summer. Many people had presumed that this would be the case, but it seemed a bizarre and risky thing to go trumpeting to the football world.
Then word gets out through Aguero, the Chairman and others that City would be replacing him in the summer. Surely a club as ruthlessly efficient in business and transfers wouldn't telegraph a weakness like that to clubs that they'd be seeking to purchase from?
Also, this would be the sort of very large value transfer that would have a lot of moving parts and loose ends to sew up. Doesn't seem the sort of thing to just get thrown together late in the window before the deadline.
Then amongst all of the speculation and chatter, City and Kane never squash the rumors.
Then City loan out Delap and sell Nmecha.
Think whatever you will of City, but they aren't complete fools who'd do that without thinking that they have a deal made.

I think that the deal was made. Pre-Aguero announcement. They knew that they had a player who'd be receptive. City always approach the player first. They knew what the number was going to be to purchase him too and they were okay with it. Kane knew too and the extended-holidays were always part of the plan as soon as the schedule was released. THFC won't be fining him. His sitting out was always going to happen and it allows all parties to not have an acrimonious day on the 15th.

Perhaps I'm wrong and your owner issues a flat rejection statement. Perhaps Kane apologizes, comes grovelling back kissing the badge all the way.

We'll know for sure soon.
It does seem strange that a club so efficient at covers up FFP irregularities would make such mistakes.
Truth is no deal was struck, neither Citeh or Kane were in a position or entitled to do such.

so fuck you

Even Berbatov is dunking on him.

BERBATOV.

Berba knows!

“If it’s going to happen, I think it will be the last day of the window.

Kane's position is more controversial.

Berba was obviously not a Spur and never pretended to be one - he obviously has some fondness for us given his chat about us after his career ended and also his appearance at the Lane finale in 2017 (shouldn't have been invited imho). So I don't think Berba was really treasonous, he just threw his toys out the pram to get a move.

Kane's situation is similar in some respects but overall it's worse. He is home grown, came through the academy, we stuck by him with a few unsuccessful loans and also he's been the face of the club for near on a decade. Whilst not hiding his desire to win trophies he's reiterated again and again his love for the club. So to not play and train to force through a move is quite a bit worse than what Berba did (who still trained but didn't play two games).

Kane and his people are just utterly thick for the way they are going about this, they should know by now that Levy never caves on the price when selling top players. Never. Refusing to return to work will not change that.

He’s just destroyed all the affection that the fans had for him, for absolutely no reason. City either pay the full price or they don’t. We all understand his desire to leave after years of almost-winning something here. All he had to do was come back, train normally and wait for the deal to happen. Just like Grealish. Instead he’s decided to piss on us. A departure that could have ended courteously with a handshake is now going to end with him pissing all over us from the other side of the world.

Goes to show how far Levy has pushed him ot edge by his low-balling actions. Kane fucked up here but Levy holds at least half the blame for me. They had an agreement last summer but now he's changed the goal-posts out of greed.

At this point - I rather lose out on 10m but have sufficient time to reinvest the funds in what remains of this transfer window than hold out till 31st and end up with a Fraizer fucking Campbell deal again and have a write-off season
No - if he wants to leave that bad, he should still turn up and train, hand in the transfer request and lose his bonus, not drag the club through the shitter. Indefensible for me.

Even Berbatov is dunking on him.

BERBATOV.

To be fair, Berbatov turned up to training but then sat on a bench and smoked a benson.

I don't doubt that Levy's done something here to upset Kane. But I'd say Kane's been badly advised by not turning up for training.

Kane struck me as someone who cared about his reputation. Sure, we're angry with him now, but 99% of fans loved him. He was one of our own. He can leave, but he can leave and keep his reputation in tact. Unfortunately, he's already damaged that and whatever the outcome here, I think he'll look back and regret that one day.

What bothers me now is the disruption to our pre-season, the lack of respect shown towards the club, the fans, his teammates and the new manager. They haven't even spoke yet? That speaks volumes, as Kane has no intention of playing for him.

This club is bigger than Kane. We loved him once. But one thing is for sure, this has to be resolved quickly. Dragging it on until the last minute is only going to cause further disruption to the team. And if he is going, we need time to bring in a 'replacement'.
We haven’t had an offer AFAIK, Kane’s allegedly in Florida…it can’t be wrapped up until those two things have happened.
