so why would you sell a world class player…….that’s what we do Berbatov, Modric, Bale……prime examples but they wanted to leave nothing we could have done to keep them plus look at Eriksen he was gonna get a hefty pay rise long term contract basically other than Kane would be the first name down on the team sheet….new stadium state of the art training facilities living the dream…..but he wasn’t was he! For clubs that aren't built upon selling players, there is very little chance a player can move up in the world without causing a little trouble.
Spurs are probably one of the worst for this, if not THE worst.

I think Kane is in the wrong to not turn up to training, but if it becomes clear that the move to City isn't going to happen, I'm not gonna write him off and forget about him being a legendary goal-scorer for the club. If he stays here and is fit, he'll bang in another 20 league goals next season. And if we have defenders that can actually defend, we might get results that we should be getting with Kane and Son upfront.

Players in Kane's position are not MADE to sign a particular contract. Those days are gone. If they sign a contract they later regret, it's their own fault, or that of their advisors. Jack Grealish is a fine example - he made sure he had an escape clause.
In most jobs employers dont pay 10's of millions to acquire a new employee.
Players are huge investments for clubs and as such they are rightly protected via contract.
No one to blame here but the Kane brothers for signing a 6 year deal.
You can't expect the upside of a huge salary increase without the 'downside' of longer term commitment.
I don't think there was an illegal approach from City. It's been painfully obvious from day one that Kane wanted it more than they did.
City wanted Grealish. They bought Grealish.
City didn't want Kane. They didn't buy Kane.

I think Kane deserved more interest from other clubs than he got. He's been a consistent goalscorer for seven years and was a model pro throughout that time. I remember how quickly Sheringham's transfer was sorted out. He handed in a transfer request and five minutes later he was a Man United player. If I were Kane, I'd feel hurt at the lack of interest in me after everything I'd done.
For the record, I don't support Kane's strike action, voted so in the appropriate thread and wrote a strong worded post condemning his behaviour. This is just my way of trying to find empathy.
Yes. It seems that Kane & Co were very naive to sign this particular 6-year deal. Did they REALLY expect to get a load of trophies by now?
Maybe, if Kane approaches this season with low expectations it will take the pressure off him, he'll have a blinder and we'll win the league or something. Fingers crossed!
So how would you feel now if 3 years ago when Kane signed that 6year contract it had a 100 mill release clause built into it and City now activated it?
Ultimately, we blew our chances with inept showings against Villa and Leeds, and although we ended up 12 points behind United, there were so many games were we lost last minute goals, fell asleep at vital moments etc. The 7th place finish suggests a poorer team than we have (obvious shit players aside.) and with investment in the right places we may not be far away.
We bought in an exciting Spanish kid, a new keeper and just bought last seasons best serie A defender. Still short in places but it could be the building blocks to a stronger challenge.
I'd feel he'd sold himself very cheap. Even Grealish had a £100m clause. I'd have expected at least £150m, wouldn't you?
