So in a way this is like saying a lot of random civilians are alive today because cops don't randomly shoot into crowds. We've dodged "potholes" that we as a club have identified as what we need. That's not an indictment on personnel recruitment it's an indictment on player evaluation...and also not a valid argument against "splashing the cash".

And just because they've not had success elsewhere doesn't mean that is how it would have played out with us. No one knows how Berahino would have panned out in the early days of Poch. And anyone that thinks they do know is either delusional for believing it or a moron for stating it. Too many variables to assume.

Now I don't have a problem with the basic setup of our financial matters (ie being financially sound/sustainable). I've always felt that Levy is never going to pay for the final bit to get us competing. My problem has always been that we don't fill the gaps in the squad, improve on players clearly not good enough, and we don't do it in a timely fashion. There's no sporting basis to these decisions and it's all money-driven and short-sighted opportunism. Each TW you can compile a better window than ours with players that have actually moved that window...for less money. It's not just a money thing. But it is a "sporting success is secondary to my balance sheet and I will give you evidence of that every chance I get" thing.
The last bit is utter rubbish. With the benefit of hindsight you can always compile a better window of players.

There's more moving parts that people like to pretend. The reality is we're in the position we are the last few windows because 2 clubs, Liverpool and Leicester, have shopped in the same price range as us and been very successful at it whilst we've signed fucking donkies.

Sanchez may be turning around, but we've spent approaching £200M on Ndombele, GLC, Sanchez, Bergwijn, and Aurier. Its consistently overpaying for players who underproduce thats fucked us. Several clubs with finances similar to us are doing better (and Woolwich, thank fuck, are spending more to do worse at least). The scouting has held us back waaaaaay more than Levy's restraining the budget. We'd have probably just bought more donkies if we spent more.

Looks like Levy will give his fanbois the usual present on deadline day - a massive BUKAKE and a letter tomorrow saying ‘we tried but Covid poverty only affected us’

happy new year don't live like you're in prison GIF

Lol we don't have the money.

The owner of the club has a net worth of 4.5 billion pounds.

It's a choice not to spend money. On any given year Joe Lewis could decide that he wants to give his club a drive for a major trophy.
City have spent £1B building their squad. Chaos has spent near that. United not far behind them.

But you think our owner is a tit for not liquidating a quarter of his assets (20% of which is the club) to buy a PL trophy?

The stupidly baseless financial doping is ruining football. And you want us to join in. Fuck that.

Yes. Only one shot was dangerous that was blocked by Snachez. We were in cruise control the entire game apart from the first 15 minutes. Stop being such negative for no reason...
Are you really serious? We couldn't handle traore at all. If it wasn't for the fact that Wolves striking was below par, we might well have lost. Traore went past whoever he liked.

Wow, Chelsea weren't able to sign Kounde. They didn't want to pay the release clause, but instead wanted to negotiate a lower fee. #justpayAbramovich #AbramovichOUT
Everyone here would be lining up to blow Levy if he spent 250M after non self-imposed transfer embargo and then follows that up with all the goodies he's gotten Tuchel. If he decided on an fair price for a player and wouldn't go above it then fine. But this is disingenuous at best. And beyond that they are negotiating down from a "fuck off" release clause not haggling on a million here or there while leaving a gaping hole in the squad. AND BEYOND THAT THEY ARE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
