Here's my thoughts.
BOTH LEVY AND PARATICI ARE TO BLAME
- Woolwich have spent about £150m. Tottenham have spent a 1/5 of that amount. Both clubs are run on a similar model. There is no reason why Woolwich would have so much more funds other than their owners decided to finally invest. Spurs are in the same position as Woolwich needing some serious investment . Both clubs want to get back into the champions league. Woolwich have gone about it the right way trying to actually get there. Whereas Tottenham as per usual have decided that they know better than everyone else and they think they can get back into the UCL with a mediocre squad. This is on LEVY
- However, Levy would've said Paratici a budget. We know 'the don' tried to buy Martinez at £65m. We know there was some money there. Everyone has been saying 'the don' has about 10 options at a time for one position . YET we were left on this deadline day with basically Traore or nothing. If 'the don' is so good where is plan a /b/ c . And don't tell me there won't players out there. Leicester got Daka for £20m. There were other ST's out there. Everyone knows this was a buyer's market. Other leagues could've been easily exploited for an attacker. It should've never been Traore or nothing. There were cheap options out there which would improve the squad as a whole. This is on PARATICI
Both are to blame. And both have dissapointed me today.
Sadly we were 1 or 2 players off a good window. Had we got in someone to repalce Bale/Vinicius and that creative midfielder (regardless of the outgoings) we would've accepted that window and given it a 8 or 9/10 perhaps.
As it stands its barely a 5/10. Yet again a window that had we made the right decisions on deadline day it could've been so promising but unfortunately Nuno's not been backed properly. How many more times are we gonna do this.
