Well, it was a shitty window as always... Way too much time used by Levy on being cheap, amounting to nothing. Gutted that we didn't sign a star midfielder and a second striker.
Skipp is too slow and insecure in the number 6 position. He is fine at helping out the defence, being the intermediary between defence and midfield, but he doesn't create anything going forward, e.g. lack of killer passes and lack of moving the ball forward fast in counter-attacks.
I don't know if Moriba would have been the answer, as I don't know much about him (other than his attributes in Football Manager), but Neves would have been excellent in that position.
Naturally, I don't know why we didn't end up with any of these, but, as far as I understand, there have been rumours that it wass due to us not being able to shift players like Winks and Ndombele. If that's the case, then that's bullshit. If we want CL then we got to gamble a bit - just sign the star midfielder, and let Ndombele and Winks rot on the reserves until they agree to terminate their contracts or accept incoming bids.
I'm not surprised Kane wanted to leave - it's a fucking shit show in the board room.
Speaking of which, we also only have one striker in the team... and a youngster. What on earth were they thinking? When Kane's mid-season injury appears, we're fucked. On top of that, Kane is definitely not going to be very motivated this season as he definitely wanted to leave. He might say he will give 100 percent, but unless we keep our form going (which I highly doubt), he will subconsciously not be at 100 percent.
Of course, we still got some good signings in Romero, Gil and Emerson. Our squad depth is, on paper, not bad, but when you look at the midfield and see that two of our five central midfielders are Winks and Ndombele, you realise that the depth is just a lie.
