I think you're right. Never heard that an official offer of 150 mill was ever made.It is also extensively recorded that this offer never came in as a formal offer, and that all of that was just media manipulation.

Perhaps because it may not have been in the club's best interest to keep this 'alleged top' striker in this current situation. You make your point in platitudes but in this actual case scenario, and with the benefit (for those that needed it) of the growing body of evidence/hindsight, it may have been "best for the business" to negotiate and get the best price for Kane this past summer...or the summer before when he first asked to go...or the summer before that.Even the Levy haters must concede that Levy does what is best for the business, and it’s best for the business to have one of the alleged top-3 or 4 strikers in the world on the team (even if it is to save having to buy other players).
...see Lukaku's HUP for insight/comparison. Kane's HUP was never the best and it only exists now as a function of him dropping into MF...and it's only to feet. Not really something to be classified as a world-class attribute. Not saying you did classify it as such but just pointing out another lacking aspect of his game that is overrated because he scored goals (note the past tense).
Kane should start back on all that scoring out of nothing, sharpish. I'm over here wondering what's been delaying his decision to do just that considering all the shit service. Seems a simple calculus; problem - getting bad service, solution - go back to creating my own goals out of nothing. It's selfish of him not to.
Wonder if he’s missing Poch’s focused fitness training? Doesn’t have anywhere near as much energy, power or physicality. Even last season, despite the goals and assists, he seemed to adapt his game to mitigate the drop off
If onl y there had been some sort of competition running over the summer that he could have got his sharpness at.He didn't turn up to train until weeks after he was supposed to, not a surprise that he is miles behind in terms of fitness.
I have no doubt his disappointment over his failed transfer is weighing on him but the man skived off preseason and went on holiday instead. That's the main reason he's playing like a slug right now.
True but he looked slower and less mobile under Jose tooHe didn't turn up to train until weeks after he was supposed to, not a surprise that he is miles behind in terms of fitness.

Exactly. However as England captain you would expect him to show some higher standards. Ever heard of leading by example?
That's a long break. The 33yo Benz carried his team to victory yesterday, athletically moving about the pitch setting up the first goal in their comeback with the dish to Vinicius and then 2 minutes later 'heading' home the winner whilst being sandwiched by 2 defenders. Now I know our striker is a little older than Benz but we'd benefit from that mobility. He'll get back to it in a bit, had to take a bit of break after making Benzema look like a fool last year.
It's not been an issue because it doesn't exist and therefore we cannot utilize it and thus don't play to it. It is a skill of that particular position that he does not possess. It's always an issue. If we didn't have a striker taht could compete for the first ball we'd never have made it to the CL final. It has always been an issue as it is for any player in a position that lacks one of the fundamental skills.I don't think his hold up play is world class but at the same time I am not sure it has ever been an issue either.
I don't know what you desire beyond a lumbering husk of a striker clogging the most valuable real estate on the pitch. But he set up Werner, Kovacic, and others multiple times in that second half. And was given the freedom of the stadium by our CBs to bring things down and turn. But this isn't about Lukaku, it's about Kane.As good as Lukaku's hold up play may have been yesterday what he did after that left a lot to be desired.
I honestly don't understand what point you're arguing. All of what?
Look, there is only one reason to propagate the idea that we couldn’t have gotten €150M from City for Kane and that is to sell the idea that as the competitive status of the club continues to deteriorate over the next 18 months that there was yet another excuse for it all being inevitable and the club’s leadership being helpless in it, nay, solely responsible for it not being worse!
Anyone but our naked emperor.

Agree. It was always "reports that a new bid is incoming".The reason to state that we couldn't have got 150m for Kane is that there is zero reports of City offering that amount.
Do you really think Kane is a 150 million type of player? He moves around like a 40 year old and waits for the ball to magically drop to his feet. All of what?

Focus your eyes on this and you will look at sweet Karim the same as all others that appreciate proper footballing strikers.
Just restating my point as a question does not rebut my actual point. I stated what he does possess but that is very limited in scope.
So your opinion is changing on Kane then? Fair enough then. I couldn't imagine anyone would look at those 2 strikers playing yesterday and come away thinking Kane would be the one for them. but if there was someone it would have been you. Glad to see you're coming around.I would like a player not to stumble over the ball and be able to make a simple, like 3 yard pass nothing crazy, pass.

Yeah, but you need to have a striker so you have to pick one.If I judged both guys on yesterdays game I would want neither.
You appeal to ridicule does not rebut my point either. He does not have a hold-up game. It's why he's always looking for a foul in those instances. Sad really, he can't get the ball under control and give it to another player nor can he turn on a defender...so he goes down. It is another deficiency in his game. It's not the most glaring but it's up high on the list.I restated your point because it was so ridiculous that I assumed you were joking.
Proper footballing strikers????? Bwahahahahaha that is funny.
