Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

it may have been "best for the business" to negotiate and get the best price for Kane this past summer...or the summer before when he first asked to go
Hmmm…really easy to say now, but if he was banging in a hat trick each week, you wouldn’t be saying that. Not many expected Harry’s apparent disinterest so not sure you can include that. However, definitely more are coming around to a need to maybe sell if it doesn’t pick up.

OTOH, I can always see what Levy has done for the club, as Harry has, as Redknapp did, even Sherwood and Adebayor, Sugar et al. Just because someone has made some mistakes, I like to see the positives. Different perspectives, I guess.

Agree. It was always "reports that a new bid is incoming".

I’m not playing the exhausting whack-a-mole of “flip flop every possible inference as necessary to lick Daniel Levy’s boots that day”. Accept reality or don’t.

I still think this whole thing came down to him not having a professional agent (and it doesn't even need to be a Mendez, just a professional). A real agent gets City to offer 120 cash with 15 in add ons, Kane goes to City, we sign Vlahovic or Martinez and everyone moves on.

Could be an eventual blessing in disguise I suppose. We're now getting close to everyone realizing we have to move on.

I think many fans accepted that but there are ways and means and valuations to be met.

Kane completely in the wrong in this matter and those seeing it differently are seeing the player ahead of the club. And many are using it to beat Levy with, as though he should have just agrees to sell without query.

Down to Kane to get his head right and his game as it should be.

Where Levy and the club have failed is not buying another striker. Madness.

There’s just no rational dialogue to be had when everyone gets make-believe fact patterns to argue from.

What half this forum was saying to that offer was that it wasn’t enough. Now the offer never happened and only half that amount was available. Both too exhausting to respond to, carry on.

Don't embroil yourself in the discussion then....?

The whole nature of the beast here is whack-a-mole of one dubious article vs the next..... Without direct quotes from the parties involved it's all just unsubstantiated media fuckery.

Let's face it... You accusing no-one in particular of "boot licking" is no less of a "make-believe fact pattern" than the one you're tiring of.

I don’t think anyone is a 150 million type of player. Take that fee any time it’s offered for literally anyone.

I think it depends entirely on circumstances. All of our goals come from two players, with Kane scoring the most. He also provides a vast majority of the assists for the other one who can actually score. He also happens to have scored more and assisted more than any player in the entirety of the league last season, despite playing in a dour team. Now yes, he's boosted by being the fulcrum of the side, but it's clear how lost we were (and are, now he cant be arsed) without him.

Now factor in that we are currently a conference league team. We're not cash rich, we don't attract players with huge wages. All this means to us as a club, Kane was worth that. People can talk about his limitations all they like, but at this club we badly lack players who provide something substantial, and we don't seem capable of bringing them in either.

I think you're the one playing make-believe. It isn't defending Levy or licking his ass to say that he was right to shoot down the 75m plus add-ons, and it isn't make-believe to say that the reported 150m bid never arrived.

Harry needs to get his head in the game and do it soon. He’ll regret it in the future if he has a crap season then comes up short on the goal scoring records he’s after.
I can completely understand why he’s disappointed and it’s clear the midfield are a weak link so he’s not getting the service, but he’s the vice captain; he should be leading by example and getting stuck in.
