The better days for us will be without Kane

We play better as a team without Kane

With Kane, yes he will get his goals but we will end up struggling as a team as we have over the last 2 years

imo we play better as a unit without him. the teams geared up to suit him when he plays, hes a fucking striker coming far too deep leaving us fuck all in the box. would rather sell him and get a striker whos going to be a striker and let he midfielders do their job.

We definitely do not.

If you wanted to argue that we could sell him and bring in other players and be better sure I would listen to that. But any argument that we are better off playing Lucas fucking Moura or Steve Bergwijn upfront with Son as the striker for 30+ games is ridiculous and not close to the truth at all.

Bergwijn-Son-Lucas is a terrible front 3. It is a relegation level front 3 that relies 100% on Son to play above his peak. Bergwijn and Moura are bad options to play alongside Kane and Son let alone both be key attacking players. They would struggle to start for every team in the PL.

Not a team of any stature.

United have Ronaldo.
City will not deal with us again and will likely get Haaland.
Chelsea have Lukaku.
PSG have everyone.
Barca are skint.
Real will have Mbappe.
Bayern will not pay such a fee.
I said this to my ST "neighbour" on Sunday. He's essentially stuck with us now, and us with him. We are his ceiling now. This was his time to move.

So get on with it.

We could add Dele to that mix if you’d like

Its one interpretation..But Kane being a bit shit against Chelsea and Palace was indeed one of the reasons we were horrendous in those games.

Kanes goal scoring past is a reason to assume he will come good again, but its a logical fallacy to simply suggest that's what will happen. He asked to leave last summer and this one. He has been open in his desire to go, gave a desprespectful interview to Nevile and showed up fat and late. Your ignoring the impact this will have on his form and team cohesion.

People are being blinded by the past and pretend the present has no baring. But from what I have seen and been told its a lot of wishful thinking. We saw this play out with Eriksen and I'm supprised at folks naivety. Id always play a committed player over a more talented uncommitted one.
We may not have played the most exciting football in the first two games of the season. But the team looked much more unified and pulling in the same direction. I wonder if Harry coming back into the side has caused some form of divide. Or if his bad mood and sulking just pulls the rest down since he is the talisman and all of that.

We got an early goal, sat back, kept the lead and WON the game against a tough defensive side - mission accomplished.

Not sure what more you want...?
A tough defensive side? They have had as many chances as Liverpool and City this season. On the occasions I've watched them play they've been non stop attack. Exactly the opposite of the shit we've had served up.

What we are getting, like it or not, is pound shop Mourinho

But at least you're not tragically obsessed, posting the same tedious bilge day in, day out for an audience that, in the main, think you're a cunt.

Which, I think we can all agree, is a positive, moving forward

Warned people that we play better without Kane but people suggested that I was just a hater and have an agenda against Kane

Pre season and beginning of the season, we looked fine and were getting results

As soon as Kane rejoins the starting line up, our form immediately goes to absolute dogshit

Kane is a problem and has been for a long time

When he's on the pitch, we have to play a certain way that isn't conducive to us winning games

Let Son/Lucas/Berg/Gil play together without Kane and you will see the fight back in this squad and we will start being competitive again
People fail to recognize that when Kane is playing, we have to play Harry Kane ball because of Kane's limitations as a player. That playing style is only beneficial for Kane's own individual stats but it doesn't necessarily mean we're better off as a team. There are a lot of players on the team that suffer when Kane is on the pitch.

Take Kane off and let the team play an organic/dynamic/faster style of football and you will get a team that is better than the sum of its parts.

Ha...hahahha...hahhhahaha.

In two consecutive posts you talk about replacing Kane with Lucas or Bergwijn and then talk about Kane's limitations as a player.
This feels like monument to self-irony.

Considering that both, Bergwijn and Lucas are so so SO much more limited regarding their skillset.
Kane can
- hold up the ball
- play as a striker occupying CB's
- drop slightly deeper and find other players in immidiate goal scoring positions
- drop to wings to either put in crosses or switch the flanks with one accurate cross
- drop almost to midfield to play pre-assists to wings
Kane is obviously most complete footballer in the squad, there is even no comparison.

While Lucas is good at dribbling with pace and carrying the ball, he lacks ability to read the game to make right call with it. And even if decision is right, execution is often not there.
Bergwijn also offers ability to carry the ball, but also often fails with final pass / cross and unfortunately enough, he has very poor conversion ratio in front of goal.

It is obvious that Kane has one problem now - motivation. Whenever he finds it and gets back into form, substituting Kane for Lucas/Bergwijn as starter is totally absurd.

Unfortunately all the usual names put about to play upfront without Harry have consistently shown they have little or no end product most have been with us for a couple of years at least so have had plenty of time to deliver more than the very occasional match winning goals or performance .

We need a backup in January. Harry has had injury issues for years due to us being overly reliant on him. But if motivation is going to start impacting his game then we really need someone to rotate in in that slot.

Just one question -

"struggling as a team as we have over the last 2 years" - two quick and honest questions -

1) Are you implying that Harry Kane as a player has been one of the more important aspects / members of the team holding us back?
2) Can you please explain, where would have we got those 57 goals across 2 seasons if it were not for Kane? Who would have put this amount of balls into the net?

I wonder how much of that struggle is because management still hasn't found a replacement after all this time for Eriksen? I'm not excited about watching Kane the way he's playing now but without him I think Nuno's tactics would be even more passive. I'll say this and then duck for cover, but at least Mourinho could have the team in position to counterattack. So far this season it is as if that is no longer a part of Spurs system. And it becomes a chicken and egg question with Kane. Is Kane playing like this and holding the system back or is he playing like he is because he realizes he is in a system that sets the team up to play without any intent?

Since the 19-20 season w/o Kane Starting but w/ Son playing >60 mins

Stats or no stats. Kane has been world-class for years. Ndombele will never reach close to that level. He can only dream of it, when he's not dreaming about Burger King, that is.

Really don't want to post this again but will do so in case the fanboys have forgotten already.

Our results without Kane are undeniable

Awful again today but to be fair
1) He was playing LW????
2) 0 service as per usual even with some more creative players on the pitch.

Look Chelsea's defense is probably the best in the league so its understandble he may have been quiet but seriously 5 games 0 goals . Its not good enough especially for someone of his calibre. He needs to start scoring again.
IT WAS A GREAT MOVE BY NUNO TO HAVE HIM PLAY ON THE LEFT!!!!

It meant that Son could occupy Thiago (36yrs old), Nuno used his personnel available to him well.....

Playing high with aggressive pressure from Kane, Son Lo Celso, Dele and Ndombele. In addition to this he used Romero well (again to his strengths as we've heard about him in Italy playing very much on the front foot, which also stopped Chavs build up.

He got service, but his role wasn't to fucking score goals, why because he was playing on the fucking left! Why was he playing on the left because he can't press, but he kept high, received the ball with his back to goal and was playing in both Dele and Ndombele who were taking up some great positions. This caused Chavs MASSIVE problems. It took them until the approx 40th min for Tuchel to figure out a solution, which was to drop Mount into midfield, it worked so he double-downed with that solution and brought on Kante who's far better than Mount in that position.

Look at the above. Kane can't do what Son is doing here, Same as Lo Celso (or at least he can't do this AND remain alive after a successful pressing phase should we win the ball back!!! THIS IS WHY HE WAS PLAYING ON THE LEFT!

We went 1v1 with their backline and more interestingly we did this to their verticle spine. Silva (pressed by Son), Jorginho (pressed by Dele), Lukaku (Marked by Dier). (Lo Celso went 1v1 on Kovacic, PEH with Havertz & Mount - Havertz was able to play a couple of times around PEH in the first half, but on the whole, we contained them and interrupted their build-up).

Why was this so important? Because it showed Nuno used the right profile of player to execute this Dele/Son/Ndombele & Lo Celso are all better suited (their profile) to defending proactively rather than reactively (PRESSING).

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF NDOMBELE PRESSING KOVACIC & WINNING THE BALL (DELE DID THE SAME TO JORGINHO)

LOOK AT THE WIDTH OF DELE, AZPILICUETA HAS TO COVER HIM CREATING A BIG SPACE THAT LO CELSO IS AIMING FOR WITH KANE DELIBERATELY DELAYING HIS RUN FOR A PULLBACK (NICE TO SEE REGGIE SO BRAVELY COMMITTED TO THE ATTACK TOO).

Kane can no longer press but is still a world-class player, so this is how you accommodate him. It absolutely worked in the first half (or up to the point when Tuchel dropped Mount into midfield at the end of the first half). It goes tits up because Lo Celso still isn't fit enough (no pre-season and then been away with Argentina). It goes tits up because Chavs react well to it and are a fucking brilliant team. It goes tits up because maybe Ndombele is still not fit (he's played one game, last week in almost 5 months!! but he didn't look shagged to me, there will be others on here who think he did. It went tits up because when Ndombele & Lo Celso went off we have no one to progress the ball, combine this with Chavs now having an extra man in midfield and they can now dominant it. (I think the idea was to try and take the lead in the first half, then probably sit in a low or midblock and hope to keep them out and look to counter????).

ALL THIS IS WHY KANE WAS PLAYING ON THE LEFT. BECAUSE WE CHOSE TO PRESS HIGH UP THE PITCH.

This team is a work in progress but you have Kane on the pitch because he's a fucking good footballer, ignore the media noise around him, christ there a ton of it now but if this is the beginnings of what we will seeing us develop into then I'm all in (I'm 100% NOT onboard if we don't and play like passive cowards). But Kane is really, really important part of this team as we can't do this without him.........
